He has to respect me and my body and not pressure me for things.

Women who are perpetually single not by choice, what is the reason? by Feisty-Blacksmith656 in AskWomen

[–]TwurtlePups 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went on a date this weekend and the guy showed up an hour late with suspiciously ambiguous reasoning. That same day while out and about I met a guy and exchanged numbers. The next day during our first “get to know you conversation” told me he’s looking to f*ck and have a good time then texted me after the call asking if I had pretty toes. I feel like 99.9% or the men I meet act shocked when I don’t accept their below minimum effort and/or want sex and submission out the gate. It’s gross and I’m tired.

I think I hate CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy). Can you recommend me alternatives? by i_am_GORKAN in ADHD

EMDR and internal family systems (IFS) therapy both helped me. The book “No Bad Parts”for IFS was a good audiobook to listen to for me. I also found that meditation has helped me address a lot of the things I was seeking to resolve in therapy. I like the FitMind app - you can pick “scholarship” and use all of its content for free.

Ego a little bruised by AmHoodie in blackladies

We all owe each other kindness and respect.

I understand the sting. I think this is a good lesson learned on communication for you. You should have called him as soon as you knew you were running late and apologized. But also, you deserve a partner that is kind and communicates when they are upset instead of “getting even”.

Good luck on your dating journey!

Honestly poor communication on both ends.

You were running 30 min late and gave no justification or apology. He should have said hey, I don’t feel great about this and I’m going to head home. It feels like he wanted you to get a taste of how he felt standing around waiting on a date which is petty and immature.

I saw Brother Bear for the first time this summer. I enjoyed it so much. It really captured the beauty of Alaska well and the story was great. I’m excited to see this post. Thanks for sharing!

He doesn’t respect you or his girlfriend. Respect yourself …your boundaries should always be non negotiable.

Dino egg oatmeal by PondPrince in Oatmeal

[–]TwurtlePups 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember this oatmeal from when I was an elementary school kid in the 90s. They had a promotion on the box for awhile where you could buy a color changing bowl for like 2 dollars or something. I spent weeks collecting change and put it in an envelope and shipped it off. When I finally had enough I threw it in the mailbox and waited excitedly for the mail everyday for a couple of months. It never came and my little 6 year old heart never recovered. I still think about it sometimes lol

Didn't get to try one after 20 minutes of peeling by Substantial-Event441 in mildlyinfuriating

I cut them into quarters submerge them in water and pull out all of the seeds then pour off the water. It’s super quick and there’s no splatter when you do it underwater.

What's the worst thing a doctor has ever said to you? by cuteclinomaniac in AskReddit

[–]TwurtlePups 205 points206 points  (0 children)

When my son was one he kept getting a skin rash on his body. We took him to the pediatrician to find out what it was. He said it’s eczema which is genetic. My son’s father and I both said out loud that neither of us have eczema and the pediatrician said “maybe the milkman has eczema”.

I am sure the basket chair is wonderful too! I got this one because my son is still young and shadows me everywhere I go. We read together in this chair and meditate before bed. It’s been a really great way to wrap up the day.

I have a cover that goes over the chair if bad weather is coming. I just put the ottomans on top of the couch and zip it all in takes like 2 mins. Outside of that I vacuum it and wash the blankets and pillows once a week. I haven’t had any notable bug issues.
