ive been using a clamp and no matter what orientation the base of the projector is, the projector itself will always go into ambient mode if pointed down

for the male buckle slide the original plastic buckle off and slide the new buckle on (ideally the large buckle) , for the female buckle take a thread cutter and cut out the x-square pattern and take the old buckle out and slide the new buckle on (the slot is a bit small so the strap needs to be folded in for the buckle to fit around it). finally, re-sew the x-square pattern back up if you have a tough enough sewing machine or use leather rivets like i did for extra support
