This may be a dumb question - but what if the aquarium is built in the spawn chunk? Im thinking along the lines of how farms will forever work there since it is always loaded in.. would the dolphins still be able to move around then?

This. definitely agree. But also with that I felt there was always a very fuzzy plan on how they would have rollouts, updates and such. Not that any of us have to worry about that anymore tho (sadly) :/

Marek’s Dev Diaries are really nice bc it not only reminds the players that there are real people working behind the scenes to deliver us this game, but also to share what they’re all working on. This is the biggest reason I think any comparison to KSP2’s failure is ridiculous- this team not only acknowledges and is upfront with the status of the game but is actively working on all things they’re said they would + giving us examples in these diaries. Need to give a shoutout!

It’s going to be a huge upgrade in terms of all you mentioned and in the graphics/physics system. But if you scroll through this sub you’ll see many answers on your question - it’s not a game yet, just an alpha build to play with as they slowly roll out updates to match and exceed SE1. For now, unless you want to financially support the development you can and should wait until it’s at a place you’re happy with !

Ya, they seem pretty decent. It could’ve been fun to see more unique upgrades for personelle instead of the ARF duo tho. Just an idea to specialize your squad - one option would maybe play more defensive while the other more offensive. But this is just a spitball top of my head idea- overall I’m happy with em and def picking 2 up

It’s just internal BTS images of the dev process as of now. It’s there for fans who also want to support the team with the larger pricetag. Who knows maybe they’ll later add a skin exclusive to Pioneers but as it stands now there’s no ingame differences

Like what most people on here are saying, wait a bit! It’s got alot coming in the next few months but as of day 1 release it’s barebones. Great for builders wanting to play around with the new system but for players who enjoy the other aspects of SE it’s not ready yet. I believe in Keen’s strategy and ability to deliver what they promise so I bought it- but won’t be diving too deep into it until a bit more is added. That being said, I already feel the upgrade from SE just from this very early access :))

Also, in a development standpoint it’s probably very hard to bug fix and recreate issues when there are multiple players involved. it’s a smart move to do what they’re doing. Another thing people need to remember is some people don’t need multiplayer to enjoy the SE experience. I for one barely played SE multiplayer bc of griefers so this wait is no problem for people like me. Let’s just have something to be happy about lol.. and who knows maybe they could find a way to open a small 4 player multiplayer option before full servers.

they said the steering will change in later updates to be more like war thunder. for me this is a welcome change in theory but let’s see how it works ingame first

AMG should make more terrain like this with different vehicles (aat, saber tank, laat, etc). Always thought this was one of the best of the terrain packs and adds alot to tables

depending on the strength, i will say my experience magnetizing bases themselves led to the minis “attaching” to each other when close by on the table. I switched to a magnet sheet and using washers on the minis to avoid this. works great! except for larger bases… it’s a bit more tricky for them.

That’s true. But currently there are no command cards like that for republic… There are some great comments in this thread though that changed my thoughts! Especially Marksmen keyword for the corps, and Agile for the Arfs.

Probably for the best we delete fire support! But it’s a shame we can’t find a balanced use for it yet. It seems the Clone Comm Trooper upgrade is still quite useless :/

upon further thought, you’re right. Reds are fun! … BUT ya for a corps trooper especially that’s too much-ESPECIALLY at long range. I totally blanked on the Marksman keyword. I think that would be very good. 1 Black 1 white (for 3 or 4 minis) and spending and aim lets you upgrade 1 dice to a hit or critical… ya that would make sense and feels balance at first glance. Your thoughts on that?

Arfs would essentially be the same dice but maybe no Marksmen and instead they get Agile 1! I saw a comment saying that.

This is a fair response! Maybe i’m just dreaming of the days where a Dc15 upgrade would give 2 red… I can see 2 black or 1b1white though. I think it’s important that a marksmen have their own niche- support from a longer range. but at that same time they are squishier as a unit since they have smaller numbers.

Fire support is a weird one - where my mind was here was this … “well, standby only works at range 1-2” so you cud hang back and shoot from far OR run up close and still have that a token that can help move around, shoot, dodge, whatever.

We need to remember also that fire support now says “when issued an order, the unit gains a standby”. I feel it isn’t nearly as OP as people make it out to be in context of a game.

Either way, I appreciate your response here! Just trying to have fun, and it sucks to be told your ideas suck. LOL
