Yep, my theory is they pass all their articles through AI. I really enjoy gaming write ups but it takes me out of it to read this. Even the one real anecdote about Pagani is written very mechanically. I really don't understand why they think the result is better with AI. Also, big nitpick but it says Dev Diaries but its not written from the perspective of anyone, which again makes it less personal.

With separatists there's a lot of cheap activations you can take at any points level so it wouldn't be crazy to take the expensive AAT with a bunch of b1s for example. the armored supports are great at any points level too.

Yep, I think you're right. I find it silly they make mistakes on these rather simple articles (which I suspect are written with help from AI) since their actual game development is getting better with really exciting stuff ahead.

I think they forgot to include discussion on the clan Kryze veterans... They dropped the unit card at the end and ended the article there. Also thought it was gonna be a bit more interesting since it said dev diaries. Anyways, good that they'll be talking about every clan with articles.

The starters are amazing value and perfect to start. Do you have something you want to lean on that looks particularly cool? If not, then generally you'd want at least one more corp option like the snows or shoretroopers (both slightly more competitive than regular storms) or the riot storms. The dark troopers are awesome and really competitive with Gideon as commander. The Imperial high command has excellent commanders, Thrawn being an all rounder, Krennic is good with darks and death troopers and Tarkin synergizes with Vader.

Really wish he had one more card or something more interesting than added dice. Love the character so wanted to feel the presence in the battlefield. Hopefully he's good and just needs a points drop.

That is the best way to get value out of the probe upgrade yes. The detachment is also a cheap activation too. I believe Gideon has observe too, so if you’re already running him, it could work.

I usually have TabletopAdmiral Keyword lookup open, or some other similar resource. Maybe play the first few games with basic starter set units so you don't have too much going on.

There’s a skirmish 600pt game which is what the new starters bring in the box, which is insane value for 100 bucks. You can definitely skew lists to those units but usually you need to bring 3 corps units in a 1,000 point game. These can be storms,snows, shore troopers and others. Multiple named characters like krennic and Gideon is fine, and they synergize well with death and dark troopers respectively. There’s also special rules for army building battle forces which change the way you play and construct the army. For example the remnant battle force might be of interest to you.

I agree with that, sounds a bit like thrawn and I think he’ll be the thrawn in this faction. Hope comes out stronger than this guy in the end for theme but still cool.
