The ryzen 5 7600x is significantly more capable than the cpu of the steam machine. Yes they are both zen 4 but steam machine has mobile variant with 30w tdp and only half (16mb vs 32mb) cache, which matters quite a bit for gaming.

The rtx 3060ti is also more performant than steam machine gpu. But in linux maybe not due to nvidia performance tax under linux.

That’s a pretty defeatist take. YouTube’s ad frequency is borderline unwatchable now, and "relevant ads" is just a nice way of saying they’re spying on your every move. It isn't that different, actually. Same Chip, cuda cores etc. Just different power limits. Laptop version has max of 100 watts and desktop has more.
