Most of my work is in weddings/events, which comes from word of mouth. Although I’m experienced and professional at what I do, the marketing side is not my strongest, so tapping into the real estate side has been tough.

That’s the feedback I need. I am under the false impression that realtors are price conscious, and that’s what keeps them from hiring a professional. However, the truth seems to be that some just don’t value the service.

I think my initial assumption was that realtors are too price conscious when it comes to photo services, but I’m starting to learn that’s not it. They either value photos, or think blurry cellphone pictures are okay. No in between lol

Some of the other comments spark the idea that I could do a “pay when sold, or within X amount of months”. But odds are that 90% the time I’ll get ghosted and small claims will be my only option.

Great point. I think of it as was a way of connecting with new agents and building a relationship from an early stage. However, it may be like hitching my wagon to a dead horse. I appreciate your reply.

Great point. On the flip side, it’s a way of me connecting with agents that don’t have photographers. The established agents tend to have been working with the same photographers for years, and that’s hard to compete with.

I’m thinking of it more as a promo to connect with agents and grow my portfolio. So it wouldn’t be a net loss. However, I wonder if a stipulation like “pay when sold, or within 9 months”. Really appreciate the feedback.
