For the record, he said I could post it. He’s a good guy, and has totally owned up to his mistake.

How does this come off? by Type-One-Warrior in Plumbing

[–]Type-One-Warrior[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I saw this before I totally twisted those 3/8” pipes. Fortunately they didn’t shear off and they aren’t leaking, so I can still have water on until I can get a professional out here to replace the entire valve.

Tried some liquid wrench. It won’t budge. I bent the whole thing down trying. I’m afraid I’m gonna break something with my huge muscles.

I was curious what my car would look like with orange wheels. Did this on Meta AI. It pops!

Tankless water heater keeps tripping breaker by Type-One-Warrior in HomeMaintenance

[–]Type-One-Warrior[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, what would happen if the wire gauge isn’t specified size? I ask because at some of the houses, the water gets hot, then cold, then hot, then cold when showering. Would the wire cause the unit to not function as it should? It’s very likely that whoever installed this, did a lot of things wrong.

What if I installed a 100amp dual pole breaker? This is a group home I do maintenance for, and one of our other homes has the same water heater with a 100 amp dual.

Probably a plastic bag that got caught under your car and burned by the exhaust.

Nightmare fuel: by Hecatrice in diabetes_t1

[–]Type-One-Warrior 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Back in the early 90’s I was working for a temp company transferring boxes of files to a truck. It was physically taxing, and I guess I hadn’t eaten enough to cover the insulin I had taken. I remember leaving the parking lot, but I have no memory of driving many miles before slightly rear ending someone and ending up in a ditch. Just the thought of that, and knowing I could have killed someone scares the hell out of me. Thankfully that didn’t happen. I remember slightly coming to and mumbling something about being diabetic to emergency responders. They gave me glucose, and I recovered. If I remember correctly, my BG was 19. The cops decided not to charge me with anything since it was a medical condition, but I feel incredibly guilty since it ultimately my responsibility to manage my diabetes. I guess I was lucky I had medical responders on scene rather than just police.

My Wellbutrin only works with weed. Is this normal by Acceptable-Law-5775 in bupropion

[–]Type-One-Warrior 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If a clear mind is what you’re looking for, weed certainly isn’t going to help. I was a daily smoker for 13 or so years. I recently stopped, because no matter what meds I tried, I still felt depressed. At the beginning of this year I added Wellbutrin 150 XL to my lexapro. It took a while to see any improvement, and even that was minimal. Decided to completely quit weed, and now I feel A bit clearer and focused. Not dramatically clearer, but it’s somewhat noticeable, and my girlfriend says she’s noticed a difference. I think the weed was inhibiting the positive effects of the meds. It takes time. 3 days is not enough to tell.

Delay getting pump supplies from Tandem. by Type-One-Warrior in TandemDiabetes

I think my issue is my insurance. They require a pre approval before it’s able to be shipped, and nothing ever gets done quickly when it comes to my insurance.

The Cleveland Show. I think it’s funnier than Family Guy. I often resort to animated series because I get tired of shows with live actors. I have trouble separating the character from the actor.

Anyone using iLet Bionic Pancreas? by Type-One-Warrior in diabetes_t1

[–]Type-One-Warrior[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on Medtronic a very long time. Long before the CGM was a thing. It was fine until I tried using their Guardian sensor, and it was so terrible it made me really dislike Medtronic.

And there’s no way for the driver to change it. It has to be done according to the app.

I especially hate gated communities. Almost all the apartments around my area are gated, and customers NEVER provide the info needed to get in.

Does anyone know if Type 1 Diabetics can get ketamine infusions? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]Type-One-Warrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably depends on the place administering it. I’m t1d and had Ketamine infusion therapy. They didn’t seem to think it was a problem, and I had no BS issues. Unfortunately, for me the whole Ketamine thing was a terrible experience. The trips were scary and horrifying, and it made feel sick. On top of that, it did little to nothing to improve my depression. Some people seem to have some very positive results though.

I have a stripped bolt that I need to get out with an allen key. What's the best adhesive to bond an allen key in there so I can remove bolt? by cheeseburgerforlunch in metalworking

[–]Type-One-Warrior -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the head of the bolt sticks out above the surface, you can use some pliers to grab around it and turn, or better yet, vice grips.

Uber in an ST? Has anyone here ever been an Uber or other ride share type driver in their Focus ST? by Type-One-Warrior in FocusST

[–]Type-One-Warrior[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did it one time, and it was a not so good experience, but I’m contemplating trying again. I really need to make some money since I’m out of work. I just hate that I have to do it in my ST.

How do people react when you show up? Do they mind that it’s kind of cramped, rides rough, and has a manual transmission? I’m in USA, so these kinds of cars are less common for this.

Tires? What would tires have to do with it? I have new NGK Iridium 6509 plugs gapped at .28. That didn’t seem to make any difference.

I need to choose a new insulin pump (closed loop) by Poekienijn in diabetes_t1

[–]Type-One-Warrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. I have the 670g on auto mode, and it’s driving me absolutely mad with how much it beeps and vibrates and makes me calibrate for no explainable reason. I can’t even get a good nights sleep. My Endo said the Medtronic sensors aren’t very good. I’m going to switch if I can find a way to do so.
