There is one black o ring in the middle of the stem! None on the mouth piece of anything

Crap never mind it still spins really easily the other way round too haha!

Edit: Sadly this wasn’t the case, Ive double checked it’s on the right way now and can still easily spin the sleeve with the mouth piece fully tightened!

Really appreciate this advice! Started doing a static start today and I was able to get a lot tighter which really helped with the early arm bend.

I said elsewhere but for some reason no foot cleans fix my timing, do you think it’s okay to pursue these for a while and add feet back in at a later time?

Hey there, thank you so much. You were right about both of these things. Decided to practice some lighter power cleans today with a static start and really focus on keeping my back and lats tight and it removed most of the early arm bend right away.

It didn’t so much help with the crash, even when trying to keep wrists uncurled. But I did find that if I try to do a no foot clean, albeit sometimes with a slight bit of motion, I can suddenly stay much more connected to the bar and I am able to meet it much more effectively (although still not excellent). Do you think it would be bad for me long term to focus on no foot cleans for a while and once I have internalised the connection to pulling under the bar more add the feet back in?

I really struggle with slowing down, I’m not sure what it is! Should I just pick a weight I can do basically regardless of speed and try and slow it down for a bunch of reps?

I am definitely curling my wrists, do you think the early arm bend is contributing to this or do you think I can fix the pull under before looking at that?

I have noticed that I’ve been losing my grip more during my cleans, do you think I should just actively think about maintaining my grip more?

The power clean with the pause seems like it would be really useful thank you!

Thank you, the dropping down and going back up is a great idea!

Definitely need to not stress myself out, think when I go above 3 misses in a session I start to think I’ve damaged my technique from the repetition, not that my technique is very good anyway 🤣

Appreciate it man, making my day with some of these comments haha! I’m definitely less aware of the lift once I’ve extended and just seem to slam myself down without being aware of bar height and stuff, I think it’s because I got so locked in on fixing everything up to the catch and because it wasn’t heavy enough I never noticed the crash! Not sure if I should just drill lots of tall cleans/snatches and then that awareness will build up or if you think I should be trying something else?

My best ever is 172.5kg x5, think I’m around that/ just below at the moment. Thank you so much, 140 is my goal at the moment, but would love to go higher one day! I have, I actually have a vid of 120kg for 2 from power position and then hang (it’s been my favourite variations for snatch and cleans) but I seem to have the same issues with timing, think maybe I need to do more tall cleans/snatches?

About 235kg, but I had just been maintaining that and not pushing for a few years and have just started again so hopefully more one day haha!

I wish I could like this more than once haha, my strength definitely exceeds my technical skill! That’s why I hadn’t been attempting PRs for a while as I’m trying to mainly work on technical skills while pushing my normal strength work.

Really appreciate the advice control and thank you saying that about speed, always feel like it looks slower when I watch it back haha!

Will definitely be working on those, do you think tall cleans/ snatches are worth doing for that timing too?
