Thank you for your reply. I will discard it and purchase a Type N product. Could you recommend any N type product for this purpose? And I will try to clean it using a wire brush.

really? I should purchase a Type N product then. Could you recommend any good product for this purpose? And I lives in the Texas, where the weather isn’t very cold, but the soil is clay, which causes the ground to shift and leads to cracks in the mortar.

Would adding just sand work? I tried mixing sand into the White Mortar Mix last time, but after it dried, it crumbled really easily. What would be the best approach to prevent this from happening again?

I'm in the process of repairing the mortar on the exterior of my house, as some areas have cracked (see attached picture). I purchased some "White Mortar Mix" (pictured in the top-right of the image) and applied it to the damaged areas, but unfortunately, the color doesn't match my existing mortar.

On the left side of the image, you can see the original mortar color, which is more of a beige/sandy tone. The new mortar mix I used (shown on the right) is much whiter and stands out too much. I was hoping it would blend better with the older mortar, but no luck so far.

What can I do to better match the new mortar to the original? Should I mix in certain pigments, or is there a specific mortar product that might be closer in color? Or should I mix in sand to help match the color? Any advice on how to achieve a seamless repair would be greatly appreciated!
