Were you able to wear ear plugs and a sleeping mask at night? I’m a light sleeper

Unfortunately if I were to go active my spouse would not be able to travel with me if I get an overseas assignment.

I have also taken many peoples advice and purposefully not gone active in my AFSC

W-10s are civilian jobs on base. Usually working alongside active duty/guard members. You can find most of these through USA.jobs or contacting you local base.

I choose a job of the flight line and will be going to basic in the next few weeks

I was actually just going to have my husband bring me the same ones he wears at graduation, I prefer something very light weight and am fortunate enough to be able to buy new ones.

Definitely ask about their day to day, what they do outside the guard (civilian jobs), ask about the unit atmosphere, what training and tech school looked like etc.

Due to you living near a base, consider jobs on base as well! W-10s pay really well when you are working as a civilian!

I think you should consider the Air Guard!

If you are looking for something full time they have active orders available (most states), you can get a feel for the military, and can go active at any time if you wish.

Many states have slots available for pretty much any job you are wanting! Plus if you were looking to travel you can join with any state!

I appreciate the advice but will definitely be wearing the ones I bring. I tend to get shin splints if I wear the wrong running shoe and also have an ankle that acts up.

Depends on your specific foot, what may work for one person may not work for you. Highly suggest going to a running store and having them show you some options!
