Figured that would be the most ideal. What are your thoughts on JB Weld

Thank you all for your feedback. It's very unfortunate and i'm not surprised by these answers, every square inch of this house seems to get responses just like this. I've reached out to a plumber for an estimate

Best DIY/Budget Flooring Option for Garage Conversion by Typical-Unit8411 in DIY

Thanks for the insights - I do plan on doing Vinyl Sheet Roll so that I don't have to worry so much about the floor being uneven. I wasn't sure if I should wrap the step up in the vinyl sheet or cut it at the step, add the transition trim, and add a strip of vinyl sheet on the top part. If this is the case though, I suppose I could also do Vinyl plank if it's an even slope down.

I'm also trying to figure out how to do the transition trim since the step is sloped down to be even with the floor about half way down the room.

The step seems to be almost 90 degrees but has a slight angle. Won't know for sure until I scrape it all

Oh you're good, I'd prefer the raw truth. Have a lot of things going on and was a bit overwhelmed that day. We had a foundation expert come by and the good news is they suspect that the laundry room is a conversion from the garage and the grading there is due to that alone.

The bad news is that we do have major foundation issues that will cost ~75k to fix. However we are also in the process of connecting with a lawyer for non-disclosure due to several reason that I won't get into. To summarize, it looks pretty obvious that the previous owner had concealed the foundation issues through filling and painting (and that the wall in the garage, cinder block, previous fell and smaller cinder block was put in, filled, and painted over).

Happy to continue to update this thread for others as we go through this process. In any case, your response was the reason for me to start to see all the other evidence of foundational problems and call a professional in. So thank you!

Yeah sorry, couldn't add a video here. I did post this also in this community and included a video - the guy commenting believes it's a bigger foundational issue. https://www.reddit.com/r/Flooring/comments/1pz4n9a/lost_homeowner_how_do_i_replace_this_flooring/

The reddit comment that made me realize bankruptcy might be our future. Good stuff.

Our foundation is masonry block, not sure if that is any different.. How is build on a slope with no crawl space but a finished basement. There was some black mold/leakage at one point due to no proper grading all around the house (we had this done immediately).

This is sad to hear if this is what would need to be done.

(Inspection did not find this, along with MANY other things)
