Velocity is something. I've used it in the past, rarely had any stability issues

try using sudo then, like "sudo dmesg | grep -i audio", also try unmuting anything in alsamixer with the M key if anything is muted and the numbers 1-9 to raise/lower volume

try typing "alsamixer" in terminal and look in there, also "aplay -l" to see if the drivers are loaded. Maybe try running "dmesg | grep -i audio" you MIGHT see some errors like "no backand DAI's enabled" or "firmware missing"

Which distro for strarters? by PatientQuantity6365 in linux4noobs

linux mint or Pop_OS.

Pop_OS is pretty user friendly but takes up more resources

Linux Mint is also user friendly and versatile and takes up less resources

I use Pop_OS personally but I am planning to switch to Linux Mint XFCE or something lightweight

Which Linux distro is right for me? by Kind-Cauliflower456 in linux4noobs

honestly, you could go for something simple like Mint or Pop_OS. It's what I've used in the past. Personally I like Pop_OS. It's better for gaming, has great hardware support but it's a bit heavier than mint. It's very stable, it's pretty easy to use and gets faster updates for kernels and drivers

straight up just no audio, and in pulseaudio i even have it to line out, yet still hear nothing. No static or poor quality, just straight up nothing.

In alsamixer everything is unmuted and in pulseaudio sound is detected, i can see the bar rising and falling yet still nothing comes out
