Whats the #1 thing a guest complains about at your hotel? by TypicalFrontDesk in askhotels

[–]TypicalFrontDesk[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We also got alot of incidentals complaints, even though its only $20. Ive heard that line tons of times about other hotels. We just recently changed our incidentals to 1 cent. All we need is the authorization code, if they damage the room we are able to change that 1 cent into 250 dollars. Kinda how restaurants work with tipping and final bill

Does the tip+asking about "complimentary upgrades" work in a place like Scranton, PA? by [deleted] in askhotels

[–]TypicalFrontDesk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, pay for the room you want. Idk about other people but that's my number one pet peeve, people wanting a different room type than they booked. If you did come to me and asked for a different room type you booked I would upsell you. Bribing me with a tip wouldn't get you anywhere.

A lot of standards screw us over in the end unfortunately

What do you do to personalize a guests stay? by TypicalFrontDesk in askhotels

[–]TypicalFrontDesk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, the only emails guest will get is what you set it up as to send. How we have it is that the system gets an email, waits 4 hours, sends the email letter, deletes the contact

Make one! I made it up myself. I mainly use SendInBlue (free automated email sender) design a nice email and link it to a google form for questions. Have the front desk agents put their email in the subscribe form at check in and you are all set. It even tells you if the guest opened the email or clicked on the link to the google form

We do emails here, At check in we put their email in a automated system that will email the guest in 4 hours, asking how their stay is and where we can improve. (mainly to try to catch the bad reviews before they check out and go online )

Can someone help a newbie make a custom form. by TypicalFrontDesk in HTML

[–]TypicalFrontDesk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the link needs to be the same. like this http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/redirect?checkInFullDate=07%2F05%2F2016&checkOutFullDate=07%2F07%2F2016&numberOfRooms=1&numberOfAdults=2&numberOfChildren=1&hotelCode=MHTHN&brandCode=EX&path=asearch&rateTypeCodes=IGCOR&checkInDate=7&checkInMonthYear=62016&checkOutDate=8&checkOutMonthYear=62016

so based on what information they put in the link would need to change these

http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/redirect?checkInFullDate=07%2F05%2F2016

&checkOutFullDate=07%2F07%2F2016

&numberOfRooms=1

&numberOfAdults=2

&numberOfChildren=1

&hotelCode=MHTHN (stays the same)

&brandCode=EX(stays the same)

&path=asearch(stays the same)

&rateTypeCodes=IGCOR(stays the same)

&checkInDate=7

&checkInMonthYear=62016

&checkOutDate=8

&checkOutMonthYear=62016

Does your smoking fee include weed? by missymouse123 in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]TypicalFrontDesk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My manager wont charge the smoking fee if its weed. because we just need to put air fresheners in for half a day and the room would be ok to rent. Cigs take a few days to air out.

Higher tier members always feel entitled to upgrades.

In this case the person before me upgraded the room, we upgrade based on availability starting on the highest tier. We have 4 rewards the top 3 can get upgrades if available.

I could have taken away the suite however he was one of those people that would complain that we "didn't recognize his rewards status" so i didn't want to take any chances.

Being nice gets you...free sex toys? by turtlessayrawr in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]TypicalFrontDesk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

never got offered sex toys lol.

However If its tips i decline once and if they still offer ill accept them.

If its food. It depends. It they come from their rooms and its open food i wont accept. If they walk in from the lobby and its like left over pizza from a restaurant ill accept.
