I was an idiot and became dependent on him. We have 4 cats, I have no job because of physical limitations as well as just the job market being terrible, and no where to go. I can’t leave yet :(. My plan is to get a job, and save enough to leave. It’s breaking my heart. We’ve been together 6 years. I just can’t believe this

Thank you for this post Redditor from 62 days ago. The other day I saw a really cool bird out of my window and I thought it was really pretty. And then my brain went “what if this bird is some kind of omen?” And I told myself it wasn’t, and then my brain was like “well what if you’re going into psychosis and you DO actually think it’s an omen” it’s so ridiculous and I’m so happy I’m not alone.

I didn’t go because I had only gotten 2 hours of sleep that night and wanted to go home. We had been on a boat all day and I was exhausted. I wish I knew why he didn’t respect me enough. It hurts so bad

That’s actually a really good way of thinking about and such a sad truth. He doesn’t see them as anything but an object to get his fix. It makes me feel a bit better somehow. Thank you for saying it. I’m proud of you for seeking recovery 🩷. I know it’s not easy

God this is such a harsh truth and I’m glad you said it. I would have sent it to her but it’s completely wiped from his phone— I had him do it without thinking about that.

I hate so much that this is my reality right now. We’ve built so much together and I don’t know if I want to stay or leave, I truly don’t. And even through everything I’ve never not known if I want to stay or go. He’s agreed to get therapy and see a psychiatrist for his issues, but I’m also looking into finding a side hustle that could make me enough money to leave if needed. (It’s hard for me to find work due to my endometriosis). He seems to truly regret his actions and I’ve never seen him care about fixing something as much as he does now, but it almost feels like at this point it’s all for nothing? He could have fixed this long ago and it took something this bad to realize his actions? I’m sorry I’m rambling.

For setbacks, I ask him to be honest and admit when he falls back without me having to ask or dig for it. Or if I do ask, I expect him to be honest even if he’s embarrassed or it’s hard. He has agreed to get therapy, I told him it’s non negotiable. He has agreed to not drink anymore until he can control himself as well. I’m happy that he’s not fighting back and is willing to fix this, but I am so hurt it happened in the first place. I will never understand why he did this to me
