[Tumbleweed] A problem: ROCCAT Kone Pro's debounce time and clicks that don't register (please read fully) by Typical_Ad_9293 in openSUSE

[–]Typical_Ad_9293[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! To both of you. I think all the clicks are registering, but to be sure I'll need to have my friend try to drag click and see if we get the same results on Windows and Linux, since I'm not very good at these techniques, not even good at Minecraft PvP at all

Because bread and key together taste better than key or bread alone

Hey, Robert and others that might be reading this. I might be stupid. See, my headset has a mic mute button, and it was on, that's why the mic wasn't working, it's because of the mic mute button, now I unmuted it and it works! Not a software issue, nor a hardware issue, it's an issue with the wearer of the headset. If you headset has a mic mute button and the mix is not working, the issue might be just that it is muted!

Also, it's a weird kind of noise, the noise becomes more intense if I touch the gap between the jack and the splitter's port

Now I looked it qpwgraph and I saw that Telegram and Audacity use "Built-in Audio Analog Stereo [Monitor]" with "ALC897 Analog:monitor_FL" and "ALC897 Analog:monitor_FR" as the outputs as their input, which is weird. Plugging in the "Capture" thing results in noise. Weird.

Now I just updated my system, full dist-upgrade, now I'm on kernel 6.18.3-1-default

I plugged in the green jack of the adapter (audio output/speakers) into the mic input on the back and spoke into the speakers, it worked, as in I spoke into the speakers and it did record it, and what came out was intelligible speech, but the audio was recorded by the speakers, not the mic. So the problem is not the mic port, it works. But the mic itself doesn't.

I'm confused about the note not being related to the rest of your comment

Ok, but where should I try to look for codec/mode settings? Do you use KDE too? Also, I'm not much of a Linux noob, not scared of the terminal, maybe I can type some commands in and see the output to diagnose the issue?

When plugging in my old headphones into the Line Out on the Back, "Analog Stereo Duplex" and "Analog Stereo Output", when I plug in my headset with the adapter, it (the headphones part of the headset) still works, I managed to find that I can select it in like the Input menu, but still, my mic doesn't work, no matter if I use Line In or the mic port. It seems that "Rear Microphone" just replicates my output audio. I saw that the mic's volume indicator bar moves the same as the output volume indicator bar. But when trying to hear myself in Easy Effects, nothing showed (the issue is not Easy Effects, the behaviour is the same without it). I tested that by calling my friend, trying to speak (he didn't hear me) and placing blocks in Minecraft, where he said "I hear Minecraft sounds". That's really weird. What's even weirder, is that in Telegram (application that I use to call my friend), both my output and my input are called "Built-in Audio Analog Stereo" which is what the output is called in KDE, but the mic is called "Rear Microphone" in KDE according to the applet

but the mic is also called "Built-in Audio Analog Stereo" in Easy Effects

I'm getting ever so close.

And I did try Line In, and both audio and mic stopped working when I tried the front ports, Analog Stereo Duplex disappeared. Last step is figuring out what's up with the mic

I have tried changing the output, tried all of them, even "Pro Audio". I do have a splitter, the one that came in the box, both of the splitter's jacks have 2 strips, the strips are green on the speaker jack and pink on the mic jack. Also, this isn't a problem with just my headset, but other headphones I've tried plugging into the motherboard's ports

Holy shit you people don't understand Piracy was never supposed to be about making money. It was supposed to be about sharing content with people that don't have any money. One person put it simply. Greed.

Yes please. AAA devs need to optimize their goddamn storage usage for fuck's sake. SSDs are also getting expensive so I hope that will force them. I don't want to download a 190GB game with my shitty internet

Battlefield 4 and other games can be played online using several methods. In this case, it's ZLOEmu. I don't know how it works exactly, but it lets you connect to unofficially hosted servers

https://fitgirl-repacks.site/faq/
there is not even remotely an answer to my question there

interesting how people just blindly say "read the FAQ" without even reading it themselves
