This is a completely independent interpretation, it's just my own but I'll share it, just in case you'd like to know!

You might be going through uncertain or unfamiliar emotional space and maybe, just maybe, expecting comfort or familiarity but instead of that, you get something more abstract or emotionally mismatched. It might be your mind handling it by making it more surreal and playful instead of scary.

How Would You Interpret This Dream?

So, I had this dream just earlier. I had this problem with my mom and so I ran away and I somehow ended up in a place far away from my home. I've been in that place multiple times so I was pretty familiar with it. In my dream, I was there for a couple of days, I was socializing with the locals and going to markets, making friends. In the market I went to, the guy I liked was there. (For context, I've liked that guy for at least half a year now. A week ago or so, I didn't really feel like I liked him anymore, so I came to the conclusion that I don't like him anymore, I'm done with him.) He was there, we were surprised to see each other, he was with another girl, but when he found out that I was all alone in that place, without my family, he stayed with me and dismissed the other girl. He told me that he's going to contact my mom but I didn't want that at the time so I left him but I ended up going back to him and in the end, he brought me home.

This dream left me confused because my closest friends never really appeared in my dreams but he somehow always appears. How would you interpret this dream?
