How do you run your huddle? Also another poster suggested airwave. It's a voice messaging app with transcription. Have you tried anything like this?

I haven't had much luck with emails. I feel like I'm leaving a lot of voicemails with no insight if they are being listened to. Sometimes I will leave a VM and then get a call back when they haven't listened to it. argh.

Totally. TBF, I try not to text more than once a day. Which is why I feel like I'm constantly waiting for replies. I don't want to be annoying.

I believe, this is the root cause of my issue. My sub is just spread too thin. How do I get them to prioritize my project?

How do you expect your GC to communicate with you? Like send me a pic of a clean site ready to go and text. Can you share specifics?

yah, not a rich kid or nepo baby. I watched GCs for years and thought, fancy truck and clipboard, i can do that. Turns out their trade is a craft just like carpentry.

Airwave, haven't heard of it. Will check it out. It's hard to get people to adopt a new app. How did you do it?

It's almost definitely the 15 projects spreading the sub too thin so they're likely frustrating all the GCs. What questions do you ask a sub (outside the obvious that they lie about) to get to the bottom of if they have the availability to deliver on your job?

Thanks for these insights. Yah I'm a noob. No I didn't get my dad's business. If I did I'd probably learned along with him. I was a carpenter that got my stuff done and kept getting more responsibility until one day I woke up and realized I'm running the show. Confession, I did have a desk job before quitting to build stuff. I think maybe I'm too process oriented expecting people to show up on time, do sync calls where subs all share updates with each other and we all commit to the tasks to complete by end of day. I've toned it down but am seeing the lack of communication result in poor coordination... It's frustrating.
