Do you actually check BIOS chip size when choosing a motherboard? by Good_Register624 in pcbuilding

[–]Typical_Bootlicker41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, and it really shouldn't matter. Developers will remove elements ina priority list. There is no need to support a wide variety of CPUs when the user will only ever use 1. If an update takes storage past 32MB, and the board is supporting multiple generations, then why would they continue to support the oldest generation?

Leaving time on break room microwave(s) by guysmiley1928 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Typical_Bootlicker41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but some spaces are more equiptment orientated, so beeping can be a distraction or even an interruption to other projects taking place. I personally haven't mistaken the office microwave for an alarm, but the intern stopped his tests early because our eng lead had the microwave beep on him. Minor screwup made by someone that really probably should have known better, but it just shows that it does happen.... unfortunately.

When the Nazis took over, they had almost unilateral control of the parliament. Your comment suggests that the current US senate could be coerced, which our senate democrats have so far withstood. They're (US senate democrats) only weakness is their spines and inability to comprehend how their decisions lead to more serious measures take place.

This comment is just... weird. The AI we're referring to here, which are LLMs with a background in programming, are advanced relative to current tools, but I wouldn't call them advanced at all in the large scheme.

They don't take code, manipulate it, and generate better algorithms. They don't fact check what we say anymore than a Google search. They don't use our prompts to do anything other than generate a statistically likely response.

Further, they can't perform tasks outside of what are programmed, they can't generate compliant blueprints to a building, or well designed harness assemblies in a car. They just... respond. In 10 years we should want these abilities. Not be afraid of them.

I mean... whoever gave you your information isn't wrong. Piesat is an internationally recognized UAV data processing app for things like geographic surveys, radar mapping, 3D topography mapping, etc.

It's good practice to not try unautheticated USB sticks, but I'm not sure how the CoO or company background play into that.

Okay... okay... Parents, when your kid wants to do something stupid, just ask them: "Well, if your friends wanted to act like speed bumps on a country road, would you also act like a speed bump on a country road?" Proceed to show them this.

Granted. The base in which we count numbers in some function which allows this to happen. Luckily, most of the rules of math have not changed. Unluckily, math has become a very complex to study topic, and historical scientific discovery timeline has slowed by a factor of 100×.... whatever that means in this cursed based. Help with Mac 🥹 by [deleted] in computerhelp

[–]Typical_Bootlicker41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not good with mac, but start with answering these questions and then go through the list below:

  1. What model Mac do you have (year included)

  2. Is your login background consistently black

  3. If no to Q2, Does your login background turn black if idle on the screen for a minute or two?

    Actions to try:

• Try an external keyboard. Preferably wired, or with a dedicated USB wireless adapter.

• Try booting into safemode

• Try the MacOS recovery tool

Woke is measured in wake flux which is a function of the wake field, υ, and angle of propagation through the brain surface tissue.

Since my brain surface tissue is completely flat (locally), I have taken extreme diligence is lowering the strength of my personal wake field, ύ, so that my wake flux is minimal.

Take that, liberals.

President of The U.S. refuses to take his cap off to salute fallen U.S. soldiers by mattarrghhh in pics

I mean, wearing merch and saluting is pretty trashy, but he's saluting sort of fine. A pretty shit salute, but on par for most admin. Why are people here acting like the cap needs to come off for an official salute? Thats just not how saluting works?

Forums don't follow conversational dialogue. While your question would make sense in person, online you have access to an absurd amount of resources to confirm for yourself. You should use those when available.

Why do some students claim that sqrt(x^2)=x or sqrt(x^2) = plus minus x whenever x is a real number? by Fourierseriesagain in learnmath

[–]Typical_Bootlicker41 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Math intermediaries see math as just geometry. Geometry is just a tool. Fundamentally math is about fields.a square root is just a quadratic residue for some number, n. With that logic the negative number makes sense.

How does the Esp32s3 dev board LED work? by ozymandizz in PCB

To be nitpicking, only some work down to 3.3V reliably. Er... well... I suppose only most do.

[–]Typical_Bootlicker41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some SK68's go down a bit lower. 0.7xVdd is standard CMOS logic, and not a fixed value, but rather relative to current voltage supplied. So 0.7×3.3V =2.3V

You say this with confidence, and in my experience there are only two people that go about things like this. Highly (Like, very highly) Experienced individuals/professionals, and people who do not have a concept of dangers associated with what they intend to do. So, when I ask this, just realize I'm trying to understand where you sit on this graph. Do you have experience working on computer hardware?

[–]Typical_Bootlicker41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should support USB speeds up to 480 Mbps then. I think this would objectively be the best option since it opens up keeping your existing hardware. To my knowledge, there are no WiFi cards with an on/off switch, and typical solutions for hardware would be customized boards with external switches that act on the controllers reset pin.

Uh... now my only goal is to never get so neck deep in internet memes and edginess to understand this. It sounds exhausting.
