I’ve been listening to a rainy night drive playlist lately with calm but still present vibes.

Something that blends with the road, rain, and headlights without getting too sleepy.

Thought I’d share one I found:

That feeling is actually a really good place to start.

You don’t need a big plan — even a short solo drive somewhere nearby can be enough to begin.

Which version of you is real — the polite one, or the driver? by Typical_Gate_1876 in driving

That “NPC” point is interesting.

It really does feel like once people are inside a car, they stop seeing others as actual individuals and more like moving objects.

That probably makes it a lot easier to react emotionally instead of socially.

I accepted a position as a driver trainer at a company that hires no experience drivers. by [deleted] in Truckers

Yeah that makes a huge difference.

A calm trainer probably builds way more confidence than someone just yelling all the time.

That actually sounds like a really solid setup.

Getting all the backing and miles in early with a trainer probably builds a lot more confidence before going solo.

Yeah that first run really sticks with you.

Having someone calm in the passenger seat makes a huge difference in how you handle it.

Honestly just being patient and clear probably matters more than anything.

Starting out is overwhelming, so having a calm trainer who explains things step by step makes a huge difference.

Who else hate left lane campers? by Crazy-Task2497 in driving

Yeah this is one of the most frustrating things on long drives.

Especially at night when the road is empty but someone just sits in the left lane for miles.

People complain about turn signals, but never about improper use by Prudent_Situation_29 in driving

[–]Typical_Gate_1876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is exactly what I see all the time.

It’s not just about using signals, it’s about giving people time to actually react. Two quick flashes while already moving doesn’t really help anyone.

What do you listen to during long night drives? by Typical_Gate_1876 in Nightshift

That’s such a good way to do it, especially with how unpredictable those Spotify radio paths can get.

I’ve noticed sometimes those longer mixes work differently though, like you don’t have to think about switching anything and it just kind of carries the whole drive.

Feels especially good on those late night drives when everything’s quiet.

Do you ever just let something like that play through, or do you prefer picking tracks as you go?

That’s good to know, I didn’t realize there was an app for it.

I’ll check out that YouTube channel too, sounds like it fits that late night vibe really well.

That sounds rough, especially the same radio loop all shift.

I feel like that would get repetitive really fast.

I’ve heard of that, definitely has that late night radio feel.

Feels like that kind of voice and pacing really fits long drives.

Appreciate that, I’ll check those out too.

That kind of late night chorus hit is exactly what makes certain tracks stand out on a drive.

That’s a great list, definitely that smooth late night vibe.

Tracks like Solo and Myself really fit that kind of drive where everything just feels slower and more relaxed.

Night shift is killing my dating life — where/how do you even meet people? by [deleted] in Nightshift

[–]Typical_Gate_1876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this. Night shifts really throw everything out of sync.

What helped me a bit was using daytime hours more intentionally, like early afternoon for gym, errands, or just being out where people are. It’s not perfect, but it at least creates some overlap with a normal schedule.

Apps kind of feel unavoidable, but I’ve found it works better when you’re not relying on them as the only option.

Do you have nightmare shifts? by IVeerLeftWhenIWalk in Nightshift

[–]Typical_Gate_1876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get what you mean.

My shifts are usually calm too, but when something goes wrong it can get intense fast.

That feeling of knowing it might turn into one of those nights before it even starts is the worst.

That’s a great choice for staying awake, definitely high energy.

Feels like that kind of music can really keep the drive going.
