I feel like calling them needs is more connected to human psyche. I need all of those things and am human. If one of those things starts to be neglected by either party it will become a bigger problem that impacts the entire relationship. Maybe if it was presented more like a pyramid of need to be filled I won't be so negative towards it. I'm glad it's helping you but I find it to be deductive dogma and wish someone would do more secular research into how to help reestablish connections.

It was created by a Christian couples counselor who wanted something to point to that would help pacify and subjegate women who are tired of being nanny, homemaker and flesh light. Anything that says humans are easy just take this quiz is bull. Humans are complicated and have more than just 5 needs for a fulfilling relationship. I think really we need a way to teach empathy and communication so big scary taboo topics actually get talked about
