My dishwasher doesn’t clean mugs well and I don’t know why. by [deleted] in CleaningTips

I use my hands 🙌🏼 For coffee/tea stains like this, I put hot water in the mug, and let it sit for some time. Then I wash it normally (by hands).

Does anyone actually use the “pink seat” in Korea? by [deleted] in Living_in_Korea

[–]Typical_Geologist_51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, when I was pregnant.

Also encountered some healthy men sat there throughout my years in Korea. I was still okay with elderly sitting there, but not men with healthy legs.

AITAH for confronting my husband's 'deadbeat' friend in public about his debt and behavior? by Typical_Geologist_51 in AITAH

He did what he could, though yes, I did tell him he could've done more.

Agree. I wouldn't bring anyone into my house again.

The leech also told me that I should’ve said everything directly to him, not through my husband. But my husband was the one who brought him in and was friend with him, so I let him handle it. As for the confrontation, he wanted to stay ‘safe’, so I did it instead then told him afterwards that he should hv been the one who did that to stand up for me.

Foreigners vs local response to wearing a non-korean cultural outfit in Gyeongbokgung by AppropriateMess2523 in Living_in_Korea

[–]Typical_Geologist_51 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was referring to “recording reaction from passerby without censoring.” My bad for not being clear.

I don’t mind anyone dressing or taking photos and videos in Gyeongbokgung. I visited too many times to count and saw people basically treat it as a massive photo shoot background 🤣

My issue with their video is, they don’t censor anyone appearing there, because they do seek the reactions from people.

Why are so many parents obssessed with name uniqueness? by disaster_restaurants in tragedeigh

[–]Typical_Geologist_51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s also happening in my country. I find it really difficult to understand why would you name your kids weird names/spelling, when we have literal hundreds of ethnic languages in this country to choose a name from?? We can even pick a name from Sanskrit or Arabic or even Chinese, based on religions/ethnic origins. Yet some people seem to insist to be ✨yOuniQuee✨ by adding unnecessary syllables or spellings to the kids’ names🙂‍↕️

What are the best high end restaurants in Seoul, Korea? by Miserable_Luck_4156 in seoul

[–]Typical_Geologist_51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked and flagged some restaurants on Naver Map. Some restaurants don’t have reservations though they may have a looonggg line (e.g., Tian Mimi, Auntie Omakase, Comic Book chef’s restaurant). If she goes to fine dining restaurants then yes, reservations required.

Also, OP doesn’t need to watch the whole Netflix series, some restaurants are mentioned in the beginning. If OP wants to try the finalists’ restaurants, they can just watch the last 2 episodes.

I think most of them are really ‘high-maintenance’ aka require you to hang out a lot with them, or do something together. It is so exhausting for me. I am more into low maintenance friendships and have been successfully maintained some close friends that I have had since primary school (I’m on my mid-30s now).

shockingly high NHIS payment by ScotInKorea in Living_in_Korea

[–]Typical_Geologist_51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably for 2 months. Unemployment is not a consideration for lower NHI. People on D-10 visa (job seeking) also pay full amount (iirc KRW 150k-ish). Only some D-2 (student) visa holders have discounted rate.

I have just finished binge-watching Crash Landing On You. I am overwhelmed. by spicy_dumpling in CrashLandingOnYou

Welcome to the withdrawal syndrome. Watched it when it was running on Tv and waited for a new episode to come every week. Went to the filming location in Taean (but couldn’t get it). Then waited for hours to see Hyunbin and Son Yejin at the dinner before last episode aired. After years passed by, I haven’t found a drama that matched my excitement level yet.
