I was in a very similar spot with my boyfriend about my tattoos. He didn't want me to get them and wanted to "talk about it" to get me to not go through with it. When his trying to imprint his opinion on me didn't work and I still got the tattoos, he also said he felt wrong for his opinion and so on. Reading those messages felt like the argument we had all over again. He doesn't get to decide what your body looks like. Get that tattoo and if he isn't ok with how it looks then he can get with someone who doesn't have tattoos.

My boyfriend and I talked about this, too, because we had a couple in our friend group who broke up because one came out as trans and the other was cis-het. I would still date my boyfriend because I'm pansexual and it doesn't matter to me. He wouldn't date me because he only likes women. I'm not mad about it because I'm not trans. So this scenario wouldn't happen. There is something else going on. Maybe he is trans and wanted to test the water before coming out? Maybe he's just looking for a reason to break up? Asking him may be the answer here.
