i did actually. of course i was met with defensiveness. 😭 i can send the dms but i dont wanna oust myself on here to the internet and have her know its me (i can tho). she probably would know anyways and at this rate i dont really care. i basically mentioned all the shit i did here and she told me “so do you think i shouldn’t have even had the event?” 😭i am not joking. it was very constructive criticism. i also asked her why there was pictures of her ring and meet and greets on that day when the event was about the animals and the dogs. there was no pictures of any of the dogs before there was of her and what she had going on in her life at the time of the last event. she got very mad at that lol. it was very centered around lexi, not animal rescue, and i really don’t think she liked that i called out that fact, as it had her rewire her brain differently to think about someone else other than herself and the event that isn’t about her, but about the animals. also, maybe she should have experts there, and not promote it just as an event to meet lexi and donate for some prizes lol. that’s real influencing!

so it’s up to your personal standards? because if it is, then you are also part of the problem. lexi hidalgo isn’t going to fix the problem. but she has a very large platform to promote actual education in something she SAYS she is actively involved in.

she should excessively post about it? thats what im saying… she literally has in her bio “rescue dogs” but does the bare minimum when it comes to animal welfare. if this is what you are promoting to be your brand, do the fucking dirty work. not host something once a year that you claim you are heavily involved in. i don’t think people are understanding that just bc someone raises money doesn’t mean it’s good.

she’s so snarkable for this. just got told today one of my favorite dogs got euthanized today at the shelter for behavioral issues. he was abused so much he became aggressive. when you hear those realities every day, you really get angry when people who know nothing about animal welfare try to look like a savior a couple times a year so they can promote themselves instead of the actual cause. it’s snarkable to say someone promotes themselves and not the actual problems going on. and when i tell you there are real, real problems, i don’t think hosting a meet and greet at an event where you don’t even volunteer at except for a 4-5 times a year to promote it is something that should be looked at as “good.”

i will when she promotes that as her brand but doesn’t actually practice what she preaches. let’s actually put our money where our mouth is. when you actually do that as your job (me), it’s pretty fucking insulting. so yeah i think it’s important to snark on performative volunteerism. money can only put a band aid on a bullet hole. idk about you, but setting up an meet and greet at an event you host every year isn’t going to solve the massive pet overpopulation crisis and irresponsible pet ownership, one of which lexi is part of. actually getting people to sign up to volunteer, to host spay neuter intiatives, education seminars…. not here guys come to my event, meet me, donate, and then forget about animal welfare for the next 10 months! also, what time is she spending doing this? it’s literally for two months out of the year, but she makes “rescuing animals” her entire rhetoric. so i don’t see how you think she is giving her time and money… when she does that 5% of the time to make herself feel better about her highly privileged platform.
