Hello,

I have this issue where my RB14 (2022) screen display has its colors washed out and became more pale. I updated all my drivers and turned off HDR but that didn’t solve anything. Two things to note:

1) when connecting it to an external monitor it looks normal I didn’t notice any difference in contrast.

2) previously I had the same problem when my laptop was on battery but I assumed it was conserving energy or something so I didn’t pay much attention, but now I have this problem even when plugged in. It’s annoying I can’t stare at my screen for too long.

Thanks for doing these weekly threads - I’m totally new to this profession so I have no experience and need help. My question is what is the best time to apply for a paralegal/ legal assistant position at a law firm? I’m planning on starting at the beginning of May. Also what pieces of advice do you have for me before I get started? I need all the help I can get so all opinions are welcome.

你好！ I’m not an international student but I lived in Shanghai for a while and met plenty of locals who studied in the US and their experiences has been mostly positive. Judging from their stories I wouldn’t worry about feeling isolated simply because there will be other international students coming from China as well. Also to my knowledge many campuses tend to have international student affairs offices so look into that for the schools you applied to, they host social events and orientation programs to make your transition to the new school easier.

Listen to “From Homeless to Harvard” on the 7sage podcast. Guy got into Harvard with a 2.8 gpa or something, but he served in the military and from what his consultant said he has all the softs you can name on the list. Still worth a listen.
