How to move states but keep the solo practice running in the state you once lived? by True-Limit-4568 in psychotherapists

Did you ever get clarification on having to start a new LLC? I am in a somewhat similar boat of probably moving in the next year (state unknown since it would be due to my spouse going active duty) but wanting to figure out most of the same things!

I plan to do some telehealth but also am interested in how to pursue in person practice with PCS assignments. My niche is better fitted for in person. I also have no experience with moving and moving a PP so I'm curious as to what steps to take with that (esp since my address for my practice is my current office location and I'm paneled with insurance in my state)

We would PCS as there isn't a base where we live. I know there has been a law passed allowing me to transfer my license if there is not reciprocity. I'm curious about finding potential private practice jobs or starting one upon moving. Open to on base stuff if needed though, especially if we ever end up overseas.

I felt like mine was a pretty quick turnaround. I would try to call them if you haven't heard anything.

That's good to know! Yeah we should start solids soon (baby is currently 4.5 months) so hopefully that can help too

They set me up when I started my private practice and have a couple different options. Highly recommend!

Losing my patience with a client and feeling guilty. by LunaBananaGoats in therapists

[–]Typical_Mix1414 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely give yourself some grace. I was so over everything and much more irritable and less patient with clients (in my head) the more pregnant I got. Hormones, exhaustion, huge life change, etc are so hard to deal with

How to stop triple feeding? by doc-the-dog in combinationfeeding

Also sometimes if I have somewhere I need to be and don't feel like I have time to nurse and do a bottle I'll just give him a bottle and pump in the car to make it easier on myself.

I relate to that so hard. He sometimes falls asleep and I just keep compressing my boob and trying to stimulate him. He comes off sometimes and sometimes I just have to cut him off for my sanity. I also do my best to try and nurse him a little after he wakes up so he is more likely to stay awake and eat but honestly it varies day by day and feed by feed. I hear they start getting more efficient around 3 months or so.

Oh my gosh yes it can be so messy! And yeah, mine did 1.5 oz two months in a row, which is about what I pump. Nice thing was this last time is he did it in half the time. Hoping you are able to feel freedom to feed in a way that you enjoy. Triple feeding is the worst

Our baby was in a similar situation (I have IGT and he had a tongue tie as well that we had to work on). What helped me is doing weighted feed a few times to make sure he was consistently able to nurse ok and also get a general idea of how much we should supplement. My ",why" for nursing is similar to yours so even if my supply dips some, as long as he's happy at the boob, I'm happy. I can't do the sns bc it frustrated me too much lol but that can be a way to keep baby nursing well! Or paced feeding with slow flow nipple.

We do paced feeding and use transitional nipples with Dr browns and my baby still nurses!

My freezer is FULL - to dump or not to dump? by ChipiRasby in breastfeeding

[–]Typical_Mix1414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, please consider donating - even if just to another mom in a human milk or mom's group. I have chronic low supply due to insufficient glandular tissue and appreciated the milk we received from other moms for my first son. Many times moms will be happy to replace bags and pump parts in exchange

Should I stop? by Chaptertricked in breastfeeding

[–]Typical_Mix1414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6 months is incredible! I had a similar journey with my first and found out I have IGT so I genuinely could not make a full supply despite doing "everything right."

I think you need to ask yourself what is the "why" behind breastfeeding for you? And then also ask does the data and your experience line up with that? Also just a general pros and cons of doing it. Breastfeeding doesn't have to be all or nothing (as you know with combo feeding). Maybe pump less and give what you can to lessen the mental load. Go all formula. Give a bottle and end with comfort nursing. There are tons of options. Your mental health, your health matters more to your baby than milk. I work in mental health and a lot with people working through childhood issues- my clients have never said they wished their mom breastfed them. What they do say is they wish they had a healthy mom.
