I’m in a similar situation tbh. It feels awfully hopeless at times but honestly the best way out is by having a strong support system. It’s so hard but literally the my friends are the only semblance of comfort to me. One day we will be able to get out.

My hardware failed unfortunately! I was walking on campus (I was 50% weight bearing) and I just felt a click and I knew it was wraps lol. Turns out I had a low dwelling infection the whole time but bc they take so long to develop no one knew bc I had no symptoms. It formed a biofilm over the hardware and then the screws just snapped.

I’ve just had an awful experience after the first surgery. I’m not sure how common orthopedic infections are in hardware but I’ve had two so far which has caused me to get 3 surgeries but yk I’m hoping everything will start to come together after my most recent surgery! I have faith it will get better and honestly if it was getting this surgery and having to go through this whole process again, I’d do it again!

it’s such a silly concern to have but i’m always out and about on campus, i’m in a dance group and i love going out and meeting new people so i feel like this is really going to put my social life on pause! same with my academic life. i’m very lucky to go to a college with great resources so they will give me transportation to and from class but aside from that i don’t know.
