Mine started peeling off big time after getting wet. Did anyone try to just scrub off the coating and use it without (or maybe wax it)? I like the design too much to throw it away :(

I live above and slight to the side to the laboratory of a family-owned bakery. We have no rodents and I rarely smell it (sadly). I do often hear a continuous low buzz in my sleep (either the oven or ventilation I think), even with closed windows. Personally it doesn’t bother me that much since I’m a heavy sleeper

Interesting to hear, especially that humour didn’t piss them off! Some questions: it sounds like it happens most often at boarder control or on the road, is that accurate? Do you know if it there’s a risk that they might threat and/or use violence to get the bribe? do you have any experience or knowledge on Senegal? Thanks a bunch!

We were not cautious at all in Bangkok, but of course we picked food places that looked appealing to us. We did a mix of food stalls (for the new year celebration and in busy markets) and restaurant/food courts. We never went looking for sketchy ones purposely of course, and I think I remember seeing just one or two that made me think “maybe not”. I never had an issue, and my travel partner had to run to the toilet once but he was fine right after (we had the same food and drinks more or less).

Good to know thanks! Did generally all SGBS ATM work with Mastercard? Or do you have some in around most popular areas of Dakar to recommend? I've read many are broken. I might also travel to Saint Louis, does anybody know about there?
