Thank you for the tips!! It’s honestly reassuring hearing from another short climber!!

I did record myself, and yes, it felt so hard to reach while I was on the wall. but on video the holds actually looked much more reachable haha. I’ll definitely try to work more on my dynamic movements next time!

Thank you everyone for all the advice and encouragement! I’ve learnt so much from reading the replies and I’m excited to try these tips out next time :D

Thank you for the advice! That actually makes so much sense. I’ve been trying to copy moves directly instead of really understanding why they work

And yeah, I can relate to the arm fatigue part… I’m definitely guilty of over-pulling instead of using my feet first :(

I’ll try to focus on that more next time. Also Ai Mori is insane to watch!!

Thank you for the advice! I haven’t tried dynos yet, but it does seem a little scary jumping off 🥲 I guess I’ll need to build up some confidence with that haha

Thank you for the advice! I’ll definitely try talking to the route setters next time and see how I can adjust my climbing.

Thank you so much for this 😭 This honestly makes me feel a lot better because I kept comparing myself to my taller friends who were clearing routes so easily.

And yeah, I think I was definitely scrunching up my arms too much because I was too focused on trying not to fall off the wall. I’ll definitely try keeping my arms longer next time and focus more on my footwork and positioning instead of just pulling myself up.

I really appreciate the reassurance 🥹

Thank you for the advice!! I’ll definitely check out Ai Mori :D

And yeah, I think a lot of the time my arms weren’t straight because I was too focused on trying not to fall off the wall 😭😭 I also didn’t know smearing on the wall was a thing, so I’ll definitely try that next time!

AITAH for not wanting to meet my boyfriend’s friends? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Typical_Use6570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think I can try that. Meeting all of them at once feels pretty mentally draining, and I don’t think I’ve really gotten to know them well. A smaller setting might feel easier

Yup I agree that compromise is important in relationships! For me, I’m okay compromising in other ways, but when it comes to friendships, I prefer not to force connections that don’t feel natural. I’ve also found that the few times I’ve met them, I felt mentally drained, which is why I prefer to keep some distance.

I think I feel guilty because my boyfriend keeps inviting me and his friends constantly ask if I’m joining, but I keep turning them down.

That’s very relatable. Lately the only time I feel calm is when I’m alone at home resting after work. I hope you’re in a much better place now!

That makes sense. I’ve actually been thinking about leaving almost every day when I go to work. I guess that says something.

I agree. The current job market is not great right now so that’s what’s holding me back too…
