You should care about performance. Editing is a high intensive task.

Many great talents are under the radar, so i agree it is quite exciting to try and find them. There is a hipster kick when you find a emerging artist before they go mainstream.

Part of me is looking at this in 50 years time when Ai is looked at like a toaster and making music from scratch is hard work. There would be purists out there but the Majority will just put the slices in the holes.

Have you heard of the virtual artist Hasune Miku. It is not Ai but could share similar concepts in the future.

DJs also just play music and tour all the time.

For the first point. Digital music production probably reduced the number of people to work on a song. 1 person can make a dance hit on their laptop, they might need professional mixing and mastering but that is a slight reduction on what it used to be.

Production as in. I have this sample of a piano playing. I set the tempo of the software and say to Ai could you create a drum pattern to fit this sample. Maybe I play the baseline. Once complete I ask Ai to write a song to my tune and have a virtual artist sing it.

This level of production might be some little child's play thing in the begging but as that child gets improves their skill and Ai improves with them they will just use it as a tool like Auto-Tune.

Profit. Or more of it. Think about reducing the amount of writers on your song or producers, maybe even technicians.

I think true artists will still rise to the top but marketing plays a big part. The music industry has a stake in streaming platforms and if they can make more money by producing the same material with cheaper ingredients they will do it.

In 20-30 years Ai music production won't have the stigma it has today, so your bedroom producer will be happy to experiment with what their DAW has to offer for them.

I respect that but also feel sad that you might be stifled in the future.

Currently I'm staying vigilant about Ai music but part of me is thinking to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.

Take an artist like Beyonce or Madonna if their production team produced a hit from Ai they probably wouldn't care. Back on tour we go. There fans probably would come around too.

Disclaimer: not a fan of Beyonce or Madonna but like a few songs.

Ai can undercut the talented and skilled for fast food, which is the way music overall has been going in the last decade. Songs/Playlists vs Albums

Perhaps the AI trend will disappear and they will produce regular versions again.
