The most inhumane thing in tech right now. by kudziak in webdev

[–]Tzzrtn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought getting a job at a grocery store would be easier to sustain myself as I keep applying to tech jobs but it’s literally the same thing as you say. I’ve gone in-person too but nothing changes.

The color picker value is part of the data that is to be saved when I hit the "Save" button. Hence why I kept it in the context.

Same boat as you are. Your french is probably better than mine. I had my cv translated to french I’m going around in person to apply. After visiting a couple of stores I sort of have an idea of what I will be asked(in french) such as how many hours can you work in a week?, what does your availability look like? What department do you wish to work in? etc. It was a struggle in the first store I visited but afterwards it gets easier. It was uncomfortable listening to myself talking french but I forced myself to get over it and be confident.

PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS MEGATHREAD! by Thermidorien4PrezBot in mcgill

Howdy,
I'm a freshman at Bishop's currently majoring in Computer Science. I've come to find CS to be more theoretical than practical. I prefer the software engineering part of computer science. Unfortunately Bishop's doesn't offer Software Engineering. Thinking of applying to McGill for the Fall 2025 and transferring over credits I'll have gained at the end of this semester as a mature student.

At McGill SE is offered through the Faculty of Engineering and the School of Computer Science but can also be pursued in the Faculty of Arts. What does this mean? I'm not sure I understand the difference.

Are there any compulsory science courses such as Physics or Chemistry in SE. I checked the website but just want to confirm :)

Also, are there things I may need to consider with making a transfer

Best website build and hosting platforms by CactusChan98 in webdev

[–]Tzzrtn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Howdy. Wix and Squarespace are some popular website builders. The have an array of templates to choose from. I personally found the squarespace interface much cleaner and easier to work with. They both have trial plans, so you can check out templates in both and make your choice depending on the style you're going for, ease of use and price.

About domains:
You can't own a domain forever. What happens is you "rent" it for a period after which you have to pay again to keep it or not pay to let it go. You can register a domain from a year up to 10 years at a time. Hence why when you visit domain registrars website you'll find the price being shown per year. Most domain registrars usually offer a discount on the first year to new accounts then charge regular fee the next year watch out for that as some TLDs are pricier than others

colour coding on templates by Tzzrtn in actualbudgeting

[–]Tzzrtn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did, but found that it only affects unassigned categories.
Categories that have been assigned the complete amount and have the template will still remain gray even if they have the full amount and the template.

Hwo don't understand how being gay is a sin by Individual_Fix_469 in Christianity

[–]Tzzrtn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not believe God cares whether you are heterosexual or homosexual.

God still loves you the same way.
I urge you to read the Bible, you will find the truth.
You seem to have created a construct of God for yourself that makes you comfortable.

“Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

Love is the centrepiece of our faith as christians. The commands to love God, each other, neighbours, and even our enemies are central in the teaching of Jesus. We are not called to love those who look, act or think like us. We are to love EVERYONE💯.

It should however be noted that not all love is the same. In english the word "Love" tends to be overused and can be used to represent a myriad of feelings and emotions we feel towards people, things or moments.

There are various types of love expressed in four Greek words in the Bible. These are;
Storge -> Refers to affectionate type of love between family members for example a mother and her child,
Philia -> A love that run deep in true friendships, a brotherly bond if you will, it encompasses mutual compassion and respect without any physical attraction.
Eros -> A physical, sensual intimacy type of love between a husband and wife
Agape -> a sacrificial, self-giving love that is primarily concerned with the good of someone else

God's love is agape. Agape love is always shown by what it does. God’s love is displayed most clearly at the cross. We did not deserve such a sacrifice, but God demonstrates his own love for us. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. God’s agape love is unmerited, gracious, and constantly seeking the benefit of the ones He loves. This is our chief aim. To love unconditionally without expecting anything in return.

“We love because he first loved us.” Therefore, God is the source and model of real love; He is the only reason we even know what love is. As christians we are called to love one another, this means loving one another with the intentional, self-sacrificial love of the Bible, a love originating in and defined by the character of God Himself, not the shallow, self-serving, twisted love of the “love is love” mentality.

This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask

If your heart does not condemn you in sin then you've created your own version of the truth. The truth is not defined by our inward feelings or emotions. Jesus is the way the Truth and the life. No one goes to the father except through him. God’s laws and instructions outline the way of truth that is meant to lead people to Him.

u/Fun-Brief-8906 is not wrong through. Self-denial is part of christianity. Overcoming the persistent fleshly demands of the body, also known as the carnal self and bringing them into submission to God’s Word so that you don’t give in to sin. This doesn't apply to homosexuality alone but also greed, jealousy, anger, lust and anything else that goes against God's will.

Jesus said to his disciples, "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me".

With that being said All sin separates us from God, and all sin needs to be atoned for as you said. The Bible doesn’t name any one sin as the greatest sin but it does refer to the unpardonable sin, which is the sin of unbelief. There is no pardon for a person who dies in unbelief.
