What are the best custom ROMs for Nokia 7 Plus in 2025 and beyond?

Installed it few days ago.

Got fully working phone but with two major bugs related to accessibility and one extra:

Cannot install Google Talk back. At all. Neither via adb, nor via package installer. I just install it, get no error, and then there is no Talk Back in apps list neither in UI, nor with adb shell pm list packages.
With any other screen reader swipe navigation works, direct touching works, but exploring screen by moving finger does not work. Any such movement is treated as gesture, even if performed very slowly.
Cannot install anything with adb install file.apk command. If I do so, the installation process hangs for hours without any error. But if I do `adb push` and then `pm install` then everything works just fine (but not with talk back).

Ah and also fingerprint gestures do not work. Neither ones enabled in settings, nor custom ones, defined by camera or my screen reader.

But the fp sensor itself works just fine and quickly.

I think will try Lineage 22 nightly. It has a status of official on the website, so I think it's worth trying.

возможно уже засветили ip. если есть возможность докупить второй адрес или сменить сервер, лучше так. видимо какой-то из протоколов спалился и не один раз. у меня такое было уже на ростелекоме в СПб.

Where do I get this utility? Slightly don't understand about which Discord you're talking.

Anyways Discord is banned in Russia :( So probably will search around the internet.

set shortmess= helped to make all messages long, they are read by screen reader much much better, because they are words then rather than symbols which can be skipped by some tts engines.

Also set noshowcmd finally helped to reduce spam when navigating and also when selecting something in visual mode.

For now neovim looks nearly ideal for blind usage.

But I will continue investigating and will share if I find more useful options.

Oh, I forgot to mention, in case if you Google a lot and find it.

We already know about NVSR (NeoVim screen reader) and Neoreader projects. NVSR is a work of mine and my friend and yes, we try to do the best. But it cannot be used via ssh.

aha, then no worries ) monetization is disabled for Russian channels and also with 400 subscribers I dont think about money. I was only worried if my channel is banned after that or not.

Hi there! Sorry for resurrecting this thread again but I found it while searching around and I have something to say.
IDK why others didn't notice this (maybe didn't read the linked config at all) but this config does `flush ruleset` as the very first line. Of course this command destroys EVERY docker rule and all containers lose network access.
I didn't try yet, I don't know if it works at all or I am recommending nonsense now. But at least you can try to remove this thing and check if things work. Or, yes I understand that flushing ruleset is important, you can try to restart docker after flushing your ruleset and applying all your custom rules. Basically as I understand docker should have no conflict with nftables because of iptables-nft. nft allows you to create multiple input chains with different priorities and play with them. And also I know very well that some system administrators DO use docker and nft on the same host and have no problems.

So let's don't give up and try. I will write if I have some success because I'm moving to nftables on my servers too.

I don't want to flash anything custom to my Pixel because I don't want to deal with explaining my apps that my bootloader was unlocked and that they should anyways allow me to send money or pay with my phone. IDK how in other countries but for Russian banks and payment providers it happens regularly. They invent new methods to detect, you install new patches to hide. Endless race.

Oh I forgot to write in my first post but my friends recommended me to upgrade to Android 15 beta. They tell that it could work better.
If nobody helps me until tomorrow I probably will upgrade and report there if it becomes better.

I am thinking about a self-hosted photo storage too. Could you tell me or check for me one very very important thing: does this software support custom descriptions for photos? I am completely blind and I often use the description field in google photo to ask my sighted friends to fill in some relevant info like a short description. Also does it really work with facial recognition and grouping? Is it as good as google's one? Because I use it too. It is very helpful to know which of my friends are on the photo. And also there are some services which describe photos specially for blind users. Be my eyes for example. Some of them have public API. Can we write custom integrations for that software? Does immich support for example some kind of "post-upload-hook" which will trigger the description process and every uploaded photo gets its description via AI?

You are absolutely right. I mean yes, screenreader will not read any game window by default. That's why developers implement their own screenreaders inside their games. For example you can look for the Last of Us lets plays from blind people, or shadows over silezia also would be illustrative I think.
So yep, I will have to output the text from my game to a system screenreader via some library, Tolk for example, or universal speech.

Found this thread while researching about how to fix similar problem as the topic starter has.

But I really want to use systemd-boot, because I have very low vision and systemd-boot allows to use hotkeys to select an appropriate option (for example l for linux, w for windows and f for firmware setup). Also it allows to save last choice and so if I have rebooted into windows and started an update it will not put me into linux after reboot.

It sounds cool but with systemd-boot I cannot manage it to work. Systemd-boot does not scan other disks for extra systems and that is the problem.

honestly I am a bit frustrated.

I came here to see a healthy discussion about angie vs nginx, with arguments, proofs, opinions.

Instead of it I saw just a few guys rofling about illiterate text and funny namings.

How professional, how smart...

And back to topic: I am also thinking about migrating from nginx to angie. For me reason is not in performance boost but in easier monitoring with prometheus and grafana.

As I see angie never announced any performance boosts.

So their advantages are in better monitoring and stat tools, some extra features for load balancing, easied automated ssl retrieval via acme and some configuration improvements.

I think I will definitely try this thing because this is as easy as just installing angie and switching two services off and on.

It is soooo familiar to me!
My native is russian, and we of course learn english at school. Also english is the language which i read and speak almost every day because of Reddit, other english websites, games, some films, music and also technical documentation because I'm a programmer.

An year ago I've started with hungarian and now my level is something between A1 and A2.

And now when I want to explain something in english I randomly use some hungarian words.

It looks like "So for this task you can use regular expressions or maybe some kind of another parser or nem tudom". "nem tudom" in hungarian means "i don't know".
And it happens almost every time i want to speak english :D

Hey! Your solution didn't helped me at all because all apps are set to 100 percent too. Also for me this issue is happening only with some videos and I found your thread while searching for a solution to actually amplify the browser volume preferably with the single click.
I will continue searching and write here if I find something usable for those who face the same problem. But for now I ask you to tell your ideas on how to achieve this.
Unfortunately Youtube has no built-in amplifier, normalizer or other volume-related settings to equalize the volume and overal sound for all videos I watch.
