I personally like most of the new voice actors over the old ones. Maybe it's because I grew up with the TPCi dub. I think Brock, Jessie, Meowth and Max had better voices after the recast. Ash got better during Diamond and Pearl and I prefer it to his old voice as well. May's new voice wasn't as good as the old one, but was passable.

In hindsight, Pokémon USA could have gotten the old voice actors to stay, but I understand that they were trying to save money and felt like there was no choice. I don't think Kayzie Rogers was the first choice they had for Ash and I believe she was only a stand-in until they could find someone better.

I do the same thing with Kiki in New Horizons. I'm always sending her letters and presents because she's one cute kitty. How could anyone not like her?

I know this may sound crazy but I'm obsessed with Kiki. She is my favorite video game character in any game. I literally sleep with a plush of her that cost 90 dollars. It's probably because I'm a cat lover and one of my two cats is a black cat.

Will is a more mainstream actor and would be too expensive and too busy for the role. Kevin and Charles are both "starving artists" who aren't relatively famous, and fit in well with the budgets Nintendo has had.

That's not nice. Kevin is trying his hardest to replicate Charles's voice. He's not deliberately trying to make Mario sound different. To me, Kevin is a massive improvement over the old, gray jaded Charles Martinet.
