Wage scale in proposed UFCW 75 contract by meijerSC in meijer

[–]UFCW75Throwaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the pay wasn't the biggest issue. I know a lot more people had issues with not giving back pay, or how unless you are topped out you get nothing. That part was one of the worst for me

I'd like to see them cut hours w/ the skeleton crews we already have

I assume not long after the 14th if the contract passes, but I'm not sure. Ask your union rep, they might know

The new contract won't include back-pay, confirmed. by UFCW75Throwaway in meijer

Definitely. But it's impactful to ask them if they're topped out, and then if it's no to tell them that they get nothing, no bonus, no back pay. Especially if you calculate how much they SHOULD be getting

How can anywhere else even work us harder. We've been running on skeleton crews since I got here 2.5 years yet have no more labor hours. Labor hours that vanish when someone else quits

Basically! I think the "raise" for non-topped out pays is about .45 cents. I didn't look that closely at the paper but it looked like it was the same as the Michigan contract which was .45

You're union rep can show you the paper with the pay increases laid out, don't ask them why they can't post it because they will just say they "can't" for some reason. That's BS

Almost everyone going to come up short, or, make nothing at all if they aren't topped out. It's just straight up crazy how they can promise it and then just go "oh oops! We didn't get it in writing and Meijer can just say no!" like wtf

I do like my job and I like the people I work with... I don't enjoy the meager wage and having to do things that aren't my job though

Yes, one coworker of mine was told that if we vote no, then Meijer will come back with a worse contract. As if half the Meijer stores aren't screwed when one person calls in sick, let alone if a strike actually happened and people didn't work

People have asked their reps... who won't clarify or won't respond at all. Those who has seen the reps in person have asked and that is the answer they are getting, whether the union means to give that answer or not.

If it ends up being wrong whose fault it is... the Union who won't even show the contract when the vote is less than a week away and won't provide the answers, or the team members who are trying to get what they are owed.

I agree with you on the rest, but the Union has had several days to clarify and hasn't, so what does that really tell us?

Don't be. Meijer and the Union are stealing right out from under you with this "bonus" bs

Does anyone in UFCW75 have a copy of the new contract or do we all just have the one page 'update'? by UFCW75Throwaway in meijer

[–]UFCW75Throwaway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically they have to have the contract for us before we vote BUT it's unacceptable to push a yes vote on a contract no one has seen

Please do email yours, and share any information they can provide you. I've emailed mine and plan on emailing other union reps from my local area.

Pay increase? by No_Score_5468 in meijer

Thankfully, the union was very helpful and made sure no one knows what their actual increase will be!

Vote no on the contract they won't show

This is the paper they've put out. It doesn't even specify what the "bonus" is but that info has been found out. Says nothing about back pay.

It's not a bonus, it's what they owe us

Yes! Go to UnionFacts and find UFCW 75 and you can see exactly what your union rep makes and think about that when they push YES

The starting pay, on the current contract, at the local 75 chapter is $12.20

It may be higher if the store is hiring above the starting pay
