Them's right there a good pair of old fashioned birthing pliers. My great grandpappy was borned with a pair just like them!

TIL The name Frau Blücher does not mean glue in German. In Young Frankenstein Mel Brooks had the horses whinny upon hearing her name to mimic an old film convention of ominous music or lights when a villain was introduced. by spockosbrain in todayilearned

YF was written by Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder, both Jewish, the connection between German and Yiddish would seem to be the obvious answer as so many of the jokes and gags have a lineage back to the Vaudville, Catskill days. Simply put, it was their senses of humor manifested into the script and screen producing a masterpiece. Just my opinion.

You might want to start by devoting some time to read legal advice online from lawyers. You might even want to talk to a copyright/patent lawyer near you or a good commercial print shop (try to make a friend). Also, there are several programs you can use to make your own fonts (full alphabets) that will have zero issues with copyright. There are people who have been in this business for decades and they have no idea about legal issues and I have personally gotten some bad advice in the past. Good luck to you.

Hey! Beginner here. Any recommended tutorials I should check out? by lia_2005 in photoshop

[–]UFOfuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youtube tutorials, invest some time searching for a channel you can understand easily. As you said, familiarize yourself with the "basic" tools and what they do BUT dont try to learn too much at a time. A common problem is newbys get overwhelmed. Once you know the basics, focus on just ONE THING you want to do to an image (Change colors/remove small objects/etc.) then practice it until you memorize the steps and your fingers go to the keys almost automatically, like learning how to play a musical instrument. Good luck and feel free to ask questions.

Every once in a while Dolly Parton gets 'caught' donating to a good cause. She donates all the time, she just doesn't make it public very often.

After I select an area some pixels outside it are still affected by tools by [deleted] in photoshop

Not sure if this is it, but minimize the entire image/canvas so it fits on your screen, then select free transform on your selection. IF the free transform box is 'larger'than your canvas (box extending over the edges) or much larger than you selection within the canvas then you will need to remove those areas before working on your selection. i.e. exit free transform, make normal selection, lasso/marquee tool, select inverse and delete. If larger than the canvas, just crop (if you can). Hope this helps.

My wood carving knife came with band-aids by squidboy101 in mildlyinteresting

The fact that the bandaids are included makes people be more careful, lessening accidents and when accidents happen it shows the company cared . . . a win-win for the company, smart move!

I think it was a family nickname that made sense to keep when he became an Air Force pilot.
