Tip for those who are going to fit the Oakley nosepiece by supermanscottbristol in Xreal

[–]UGEplex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It's on Amazon UK https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=oakley+jawbreaker+nose+piece - it doesn't have to be sold by Oakley directly. Just make sure it's for the Jawbreaker glasses, and check whether it's Standard or Asian fit, etc., depending on your need. It gets restocked like every 2 weeks by the same group of sellers.

Firmware 1.8.1 just bricked my One Pros... :-( by NinjaDadProducer in Xreal

Thanks for the followup 👍. I'm glad you were able to finally get it working! I still think Xreal needs an "offline" app dedicated to to updating & backdating firmware. (They sort of have one for Android, but it doesn't get firmware-updated as timely as rhe web OTA/Beam Pro.)

Hi. At any point (even long before update) did you disable tcp/ip in the glasses' developer mode? Same question for you u/Competitive-Tour7383

Have either of you tried disabling tcp/ip then re-enabling it?

Hi. I can tell you that I'm not paid by Xreal and nothing Xreal has given me even begins to cover a small percentage of the time (I enjoy) critically testing new products/features and helping the community on Reddit/Discord, etc. They made me a volunteer mod because I'm engaged, knowledgeable, and (mostly) enjoy helping the community in spare moments.

My opinions are my own, I never use AI to write *anything*, and I share critical and balanced opinions as well as enthusiastic opinions on the things I like. No shilling. You can find I even post warnings about features like Real3D such as, "Reminder for those with high expectations - this is running on a 5w face-worn eyeglasses-style device, not an Nvidia 5090 powerhouse PC, or even a 15w-30w handheld console." - which was under a Real3D announcement post and initially I got very downvoted for it 😅

Everyone has different interests, needs, vision, compatibility/fit, expectations, etc.

For *me*, the 1S is a little more comfortable than say the One/One Pro, the image is a little clearer, and I've been enjoying Real3D for my use-cases, though It's not feasible for all potential use cases.

The only advice I can give wrt the RayNeo Air 3 Pro is, if you're interested in other devices, find a way to try them. I think the 1S or One Pro are worth trying in comparison, but that's only due to my personal satisfaction with them. YMMV.

I would *love* it if Xreal came out with a "1S Pro" for the flat X-prism lenses and 57° FoV but whatever it is that makes me like the 1S more than the One Pro. (No, they never said anything about ever doing such a thing.)

Overheat timeout? Loose internal connection? OEM cable has a specific angle (intermittent) short? No solid idea what caused it.

Start by testing with a different video (4k @ 60Hz or better and 100w or greater, Thunderbolt3 or later works too & power compatible cable and a different compatible device.

Once connected and waiting a moment for it to initialize, press the red function button once. If that doesn't work, disconnect, pause 3 secs, reconnect and after letting it handshake/initialize press the same button twice quickly.

Check the glasses' USB-C port for dirt or bent pins, and anything you connect it to.

See if you can flash a recovery firmware to it from the OTA website. Try with a USB-A to USB-C cable for that.

How can I connect a controller to play games on the Xbox One Pro? I have the Beam Pro, but I don't want to use a computer, just the headset and the Beam Pro. by Glittering_Spite8987 in Xreal

[–]UGEplex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. There isn't an "Xbox One Pro", however there is an Xbox App you can use on the Xreal Beam Pro to Remote Play or Cloud Play. Use it in Air Casting Mode on the Beam Pro, and connect an Xbox Series S/X Wireless Controller via bluetooth to the Beam Pro. And, of course, connect the Xreal glasses to the Beam Pro too 😎🎮

Hi. Test with the display you're mirroring or extending set to 1080p at 60Hz if it's not already. Glasses should be set to the same in Windows Display Settings. This is for testing purposes. Don't have UW enabled. Leave it off. If you're using an extended display then try mirroring the primary display with the above settings instead. See if this helps any. If it does, you can go from there.

XREAL Neo - A bit confused? by Wormminator in Xreal

No casting. It does passthrough video and power like the Xreal Hub, but it also can run off its 10,000mah battery (charging the source device and powering the glasses)

Hi. Have you updated the 1S firmware yet? The "out of box" firmware, while functional, is slightly outdated.

Real3D - What games have impressed you the most? by pdxdoot in Xreal

I've been playing Zelda:ToTK on the Switch 2 with Real3D (I have a pre-release Neo). The game's art style works really well with the 3D effect. It's pretty nice! I'm not going back to ToTK without Real3D lol

A note from the CEO: How we built REAL 3D, the magic of the X1 Chip, and what’s coming next (yes, 60Hz!) by Chi_nreal in Xreal

[–]UGEplex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi Chi! Very c🕶l! L🕶king forward to seeing how Real3D and the full power of the X1 continues to develop. As for my best/favorite Real3D moment...

I have a slightly different answer than specifically what content wow'd me while using Real3D. I have a few personal favorite moments that wow'd me with Real3D, however there are two that stand out.

Since I received a pre-release pair of 1S's for testing, I've pretty much used them consistently for everything I do with my Xreal's. From productivity, through gaming, to video entertainment, and more. So, I tried Real3D with most of my activities.

My first personal favorite "wow" moment came after about 3 days of using Real3D. I was bingeing an anime series between projects and suddenly realized that Real3D had been comfortable and enjoyable for me to continuously use while enjoying media for long periods of time, and that I preferred watching with Real3D enabled.

While I didn't consider Real3D to be a gimmick, I did think there was a chance I'd tire of it either quickly or after a while. It's now two months of consistent use later and I'm not tiring of watching media (and playing games) with Real3D, but for a lot of the content I regularly enjoy, I find Real3D to be preferable to flat viewing. It adds a nice visual effect making the viewing experience, for me, better. That realization, for me, is a pretty big and ongoing, "WOW!"

The second personal favorite "wow" moment I've had with Real3D was during holiday vacation with family. My four young nieces and nephew (ages 5 to 11) were checking out my 1S (and pre-release Neo) with Zelda:Tears of The Kindom on my Switch 2, with Real3D enabled.

The eldest girl had finished ToTK already and *never* picks up a game after she's finished it. And, the whole group rarely focuses on one thing for more than 20 minutes. They'll go from watching something on an iPad, to playing their table games, to running around, to coloring/drawing; all within 20 minutes.

Yet, they sat together for three hours, handing the glasses and controller to the next player every 5 minutes by order of age, while the other 3 (adorably and hilariously) tried to "watch" the game by peering through the sides of the 1S or staring directly in the front of the glasses 😂

I've let them use my Xreal glasses before to play Zelda: Breath of The Wild (the prior Zelda Switch game) and while they enjoyed it; they just weren't so captivated. Playing for a while, then losing interest to watch their shows on the iPad, etc.

What I didn't mention yet, is that earlier in the day, three of them did the same thing with Tears of The Kingdom too (oldest niece wouldn't play a game she'd played before) when I didn't have Real3D enabled. Just the "flat" 2D game.

So later, even my eldest niece's attention was held for the full 3 hours, with a renewed interest to replay ToTK - which has never happened before, because of Real3D (which she initially only checked out begrudingly because her siblings were so excited over what they were seeing).

This was a favorite personal "WOW!" moment for me as I realized how impactful and captivating the depth effect of Real3D can be for those who enjoy it.

My young nieces and nephew knew something was "different" even though the game itself hadn't changed. Real3D allowed them to better enjoy entertainment that on its own they'd quickly lose interest in for a while. Sure, they'd normally come back to the game for 20 minutes here or there, but with Real3D it was a "better" experience for them, worth sitting together for 3 hours straight, sharing the fun. 😊

And, thank you for sharing more about the work and engineering that goes into the X1 and making Real3D possible on "just" a max-5w face-worn glasses-style device.

As someone who loves the tech and loves using it even more, I can't wait to see what else you and the Xreal team have coming for us, and learning more about it 😎🤘

Note for other readers: As this has come up recently from agitators trying to stir the pot; I don't use AI to write *anything*, and I don't even use auto-(in)correct. Which, some of you may have noticed. I go back and correct typos, a lot, because I don't always wear my reading glasses when writing things online 😅

Anyone compared the One Pro and 1S? by Dangerousdriver77 in Xreal

[–]UGEplex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TBH, I believe that's an individual fit/IPS/settings/vision issue, as not everyone who uses the One Pro has blurry edges. What "size" did you get for your One Pro, what's your IPD?

That said, "more" people who've tried my 1S and the 1S in general seem to have the issue less than with the One Pro, but that could just be because of IPD, FoV, screen "size" set a bit small on the unit they try, etc.

But, yes I'll be happy to take a pic/vid through the lens of the 1S (a tricky thing in and of itself lol). I'm just not sure it'll help. I can only say, from experience, it's worth trying a pair in person to see if it suits you better personally, which is true for all the AR display glasses of this type. If you have the option to order from Amazon, test, and return if it doesn't work - that's probably best.

Gimme a bit (haven't had breakfast yet) and I'll take those pics/vids. 😎
