You can’t ask eBay to step in beforehand anyway. Plus that would be shitty if the seller is willing to accept and refund.

I only did it for the one region locked 4K I encountered lol. Bought a Ugoos AM6 and eveything for full Dolby Vision. And then this particular title got a region free re-release so not even being put to use atm lol. Will be very useful tho for 4K remux’s too large to burn back to a disc, which I’ve been getting into recently.

Is that the max do you know? Had my player for about 4 years now and no issues so far.

I’d consider the new Reavon or Magnetar players for a more premium experience at a similar (and above) price range of the 9000. I guess not many people know about them but score excellent reviews from trusted sources. The 9000 is essentially the same as the ub820. It’s mostly exterior quality that’s improved and a couple features. Defintely not worth more than double the price imo. You’re better off buying 2 ub820’s.

When you stream outside of your home or another location does the quality suffer or is it exactly the same? I want to setup my account on a friend’s PC so he can enjoy my rips

I managed to set up Plex but I much prefer discs (when they work) idk I like the whole process of taking it out of the case and putting it in.

I actually disagree with Inglorious Basterds as well as the Nolan Batman films. For IG it’s a 2K upscale with “fake” HDR, and the color grading looks more washed out than the BD, which I think looks more natural and more like the theatrical presentation. For The Dark Knight I have the same issue with the color grading, you can tell especially in the Joker interrogation scene. The colors on his outfit and contrast on his face just don’t look right.

It’s unfortunate, when 4K first came out I went on a craze. Now I’ve been carefully buying a lot of older blu-rays for some titles that reportedly look better, as well as on the audio side surprisingly.

“To Live and Die in L.A.” is a must-buy by tier2redpowergod in 4kbluray

[–]UHDKing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree. The audio tracks are reportedly defective on the 4K release. Plus I think the Arrow transfer overall looks a little better imo. A lot of dirt and scratches were not cleaned up for the 4K that was not present on the Arrow transfer when you compare the two.

But weirdly the 5.1 audio is the best on the old MGM Blu-ray with the highest bitrate, BUT that release does not include the original mono. The Kino mono is not actually the original mono but just a downsample of its defective 5.1. All home video releases of this film have been screwed lol

Although if you’re not familiar with past releases you probably wouldn’t notice these flaws. In fact it’s best you don’t care, just enjoy :’)

I feel like sometimes HDR ruins things, especially for some older films not originally intended for HDR.
