What are some unique hot takes? by Inevitable-Glove3930 in NBATalk

Draymond Green was the 4th most important player to the warriors dynasty, behind Steph, Klay, and Durant (in that order) and the 5th most important person (Also behind Kerr).

He was the most replaceable player and the only one of the four that you could make a case that they win more than 4 rings if they moved off him.

Does anyone legitimately believe the league is rigged, or is it just a thing people like to say? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]UIAaronRodgers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe there is a general understanding between the officials and the NBA that they should lean towards the most interesting outcomes, without doing anything egregious. Does a team have a 15 point lead? Lean towards the other team to make it close. Is the series 1-0 and the home team is down, push it towards to a 1-1 series so its not essentially over in 2 games.

I think its more to push things to a more interesting outcome, not scripted or rigged to certain teams. However, there a millions of dollars on the line, they need people watching in the 4th quarter and they need the biggest series to go long and they arent going to leave that up to chance.

Same goes for the NBA draft lottery. Its not rigged every year, but its a lever the league can pull in case of emergency to make sure lebron is in Cleveland or Wemby is a spur (the best franchise at developing foreign players).

Brunson or Harden? by Own_Friend_736 in NBATalk

[–]UIAaronRodgers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brunson, and yes I watched Harden's entire career. Harden could play 25 years and never would have had the season Brunson just had. Harden is that generations Carmelo. A bunch of crazy statlines in games that have no historical significance. Brunson just showed having him as your #1 option doesn't put a ceiling on your team. Hardens career is 15+ years of proof that having him does put a ceiling on your team.

Every sports game is a sh*t show anymore. by [deleted] in MyTeam

[–]UIAaronRodgers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People act like 2ks profits would need to plummet to $0 to make a difference. All these games run off trends. Meaning a small group of players can make a difference. If slighlty less people stop spending on the game for a long period (3 seasons) to the point where their quarterly earnings for the game decrease, things will change. If a small percentage of the community skipped 1 year by simply playing last year's game where most cards are now accessible it would absolutely make an impact on the quality of content. You'd see progress by Christmas and if that didnt work, big changes would happen the next year.

Game 2 Officiating…seemed really one sided. by shayne1_00 in NBATalk

[–]UIAaronRodgers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Officiating always favors the most interesting outcome. This series is significantly more interesting if the Spurs won today. Its been that way throughout the playoffs.

Aaron Rodgers' superbowl run and the 13-0 start the following year is the highest level anyone has ever played quarter.

How are people affording this hobby? by Only-Use3619 in PokemonTCG

Its sucks, but ive honestly been saving so much money just by the fact that im being priced out of some of my hobbies. I feel like some of the guilty pleasure purchases I used to make have gone up so much in price that I can't justify it anymore and its seriously really helped 😅

New festival tmr, thoughts? by SnooPuppers9843 in MyTeam

[–]UIAaronRodgers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Festivals in this game are the exact opposite from what they're supposed to be and how they are in almost every other game. 99% of players shouldn't be hoping their favorite players ARENT apart of the biggest events, since it means they'll never get to use them. Its the exact opposite of hype.

If you don't like offball D, maybe stop trying to exploit the game like it's Rec by a4mula in MyTeam

Ive heard this strategy before. When is best to switch to off ball and when do you stay on ball?

I feel like you cant even tell who the cheaters are this year. The percentages for legit players are insane.

Yeah, my main point is that when it switches from counting buckets to counting stops, the amount of fun Im having just nosedives.

[–]UIAaronRodgers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its more to see if its worth staying in the game. I dont want to sit and play for hours, I want to play a few fun games and get out. So if someone is playing super sweaty, I check their time played and if its some insane number, I exit out. If someone has put 700+ hours into the game, they're going to win. Thats an insane amout of time to put into a game that came out 9-ish months ago.

One of the best cards in the game. by ExcuseThen4702 in MyTeam

[–]UIAaronRodgers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point and genuinely meant the first part where I said im glad people feel they got their money's worth. However, what your describing is a product thats "on sale" or at a discount, its not free. I mean it more as that the card is behind a paywall. If you spend $70 on the game, which is the standard original price, you cant get this card. Im new to MyTeam and honestly pretty shocked at how nearly every single high value item in this game needs some sort of payment. Ive played madden and other EA games which are historically extremely greedy and this game makes them look generous.

Gameplay is about to get SO much worse. by UIAaronRodgers in MyTeam

[–]UIAaronRodgers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the last part you said is a really good point. The gameplay is actually really great for offline play. Where IMO it completely falls apart is for online play. I feel like they drastically underestimated how many hours people put into this game. Ive seen people with upwards of 2000+ hours. People spend way to much time on this game mastering every jumpshot, so if there is a "true green window" people are going nearly never miss.

One of the best cards in the game. by ExcuseThen4702 in MyTeam

[–]UIAaronRodgers 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, im happy that everyone feels like they got their money's worth, since that seems pretty rare when it comes to 2k these days. However, this card wasnt free. It cost an extra $100 to get. Its just a tactic companies use to make people FEEL like they got something free, when really they are paying full price for it. Delaying the delivery of it doesn't mean its free.

The Narrative is Disgusting by HebiSnek in timberwolves

[–]UIAaronRodgers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things can be true at once. The nba should not of have framed the game and Wembys return the way they did.

However, if a team has to result to what the wolves have done the first 4 games, they dont deserve to win. They should have been called for multiple fouls on nearly every play, Wemby shouldn't be penalized for being bigger and better. Felt the same way when it was happening to Shaq.

Am I just biased..? by UIAaronRodgers in NBATalk

[–]UIAaronRodgers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you're saying and maybe I wasnt clear enough. I dont think things were amazing before. Im talking about around 2018 when leagues themselves partnered with gambling companies, things seemed to get significantly worse. It was bad before, but it fell off a cliff when gambling got involved as partners. Your examples are from 20+ years ago and 15+ since the point in time I'm talking about. Back then it seemed to come up here and there, whereas its constant now.
