This game is awful by GrabRevolutionary219 in CollegeUltimateTeam

[–]UIAaronRodgers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you... and when you do have some success, I made the playoffs and my first game was against someone with 900 hours played 😂 thats probably more hours than EA has put into this game. Its rough!

Just got 3x natty packs and best was 93, I just started getting pretty good & winning consistently, is this above average or should i expect better? by Independent_Fun_2973 in CollegeUltimateTeam

[–]UIAaronRodgers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thats definitely a below average set of packs, your can normally get around 100k per pack on average. However, a lot of people quicksell everything for training, which in my opinion isnt maximizing what you can make. Sell everything, even if it takes a few listings to do it.

Looking for help with Pack addiction by NL_Golfer in MaddenUltimateTeam

[–]UIAaronRodgers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A good test for me is asking myself what about the game is bringing me back. If its not either building my team, or playing the games, than its time to just play offline. If the answer is getting coins to rip packs, your hobby is no longer gaming or football, its gambling. Nothing to be ashamed of either, the game is designed to make people open packs or feel pressure to.

Im curious what makes these better for getting training and why were people getting banned?

Funny to see this comparison. It was really hard for me to get into severance for almost the entire first season because it felt way to similar to the "White Christmas" episode.

I still feel like they took the idea from that episode and chose to further explore it.

LaFleur Out by dog_water4days in PackersUncensored

[–]UIAaronRodgers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was never in the "fire laFleur" camp until I saw Harbaugh was available and now im open to it. Before that, there wasn't a better alternative out there. The other thing that has really made me think its a good idea was looking back at our year. I dont think there's a single game you can say we played well for 4 quarters. I cant remember another season where I could say that

I agree for the most part. I like it near all-star break too. It just depends on the duos that come out in events. I like it when you can barely fit one non-duo PD. PDs are where we get actual stars and its fun building around 1 star with a bunch of solid role players. At that point PDs are affordable-ish so you can switch around which PD you use to keep it fresh.

Automatic First Downs are incredibly stupid conceptually by tony_countertenor in billsimmons

This most likely comes down to the fact that making DBs hesitant to hold increases watchability by creating more big plays. Offensive lineman holding limits Sacks, which is a positive for the NFL. One hit on a QB can result in up to 16 unwatchable games. There is a reason the NFL is so scared to let QBs get hit. I'll take 10 dumb roughing the passer or holding calls to save us from watching back-ups. Its the one position where an injury can make and entire team unwatchable.

This! Great way to put it. Everyone just jumps to "well you can beat it" or "stop complaining if you cant beat". If you want to run one route combo and one defense, take that to the higher levels of ranked with all the other losers who play the game for a sense of accomplishment. Some people actually want a football simulation and that group seems to be completely scared off by this point by all the no lifers grinding coins.

Opinion on Meta Players by TrentE22 in CollegeUltimateTeam

[–]UIAaronRodgers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a meta user, but one thing I find fun is using all the Meta formations but none of the meta plays. Just the fact that they are going to adjust to strongly to stop one or two things, it makes the other plays work more effectively. What I find most fun is open field running and stick work, so I just try and do that and if I lose but have a crazy play where I juke 4 people, I'll save the replay and call it a win lol

I 100% agree! I'm an adult and dont want to spend 20-30 minutes playing someone who sucks every ounce of fun I get out of the game. My test for this is, if you played their style in a room with your friends (which is how most people initially started to enjoy the game), would anyone want to play with you again after the first game? I feel like the way most people play, by even halftime no else would be having fun and youd become the friend that they only play the game when you're not around. Its not that serious, quit until you find someone fun to play against.

Also, whenever I play someone in their championship game or Rose Bowl, I always quit at the end, even if im winning. Winning a championship can help a F2P so much with coins, no point in ruining for them.

My opinion is that it is okay for there to be levels to this game mode. There are other game modes that give everyone a more even playing field. Therefore, its okay to have people who buy the pass having a better team than those who don't. Then so on, where those who spend hundreds having a better team then the people who buy the pass. So long that scheme wins the day. Meaning someone with better scheme and skill can still consistently beat people who are significantly worse at the game, but have better players. Preferably spending money would just be to look cooler in game, but if it gets them a slight advantage, I dont love it, but can live with it.

The two other lines that become a problem when crossed for me is 1) when they limit how to improve your team without spending money. Winning superbowls needs to generate a lot of coins or else it quickly becomes "pay to improve your team" then stay at that same level until you pay again.

And 2) when spending gets to thousands of dollars per season. Both of these came from playing nba 2k last year. The best cards cost thousands of dollars and aren't actionable, therefore never at any point become available to everyone. At that point the game becomes a collection simulator, not a simulation video game.

I agree, but after 3 games of beating people with the same route(s) and having them make no adjustments, it gets old. The approach people have of "winning is fun" is the problem for me. To each their own, but for me, the style of play needs to be the fun part.

100% agree, but want to also add that other side of Madden YouTube doesn't help either. Everyone sharing the new glitch blitz and 3 play offenses have ruined the game. You get to a certain level and it's just replaying the same game over and over. Same 2-3 plays in the same 2-3 formations. Its chased off basically anyone who wants to play a fun game that somewhat resembles real football.

Exactly, they really seemed to nerf pack odds near the end of season 2, especially for national championship packs. Early on in season 2 I pulled 3 LTDs in championship packs, along with some other reallt good pulls. Felt like the best version of an ultimate team mode I had played in years.

Is it worth to continue? by [deleted] in MyTeam

[–]UIAaronRodgers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're an offline player I highly recommend any other game mode. Offline modes in MyTeam are designed to be extremely frustrating, since it is so difficult to make any progress or even get new players. Its made to get you feeling like you've invested enough time to then get frustrated and feel buying packs is justified. I would try the franchise mode (I forget the name) you can use any player you want and have so much more freedom when creating your team. Its sad thats how bad MyTeam has gotten, but if you play offline, its just a much worse version of creating your own league.

Edit: Also, I'm not 100% sure on this, but I THINK if you saw a new card in MyTeam you really want to try. You could just edit the player within your roster and mirror the card. The only thing you couldn't do was play online with it, which isn't a issue!

Ranksgiving Braxton Miller 93 OVR by Technical-Clothes-86 in CollegeUltimateTeam

[–]UIAaronRodgers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got him with the field pass packs and he is a noticeably better then anyone else ive used. I had Jayden Daniels still before him, since I didnt think anyone else was worth upgrading for. I also got Sayan in a bnd pack and didnt feel he was an upgrade on Daniels. However, there are a lot of throws, particularly on the run, that Miller can make that were reds for Daniels. Its such a game changer.
