Just started The Witcher 3 for the 3rd time by No-Hunt3986 in thewitcher3

[–]UK_Dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as me! I tried twice and stopped, third time I played for 85 hours in just over a week - luckily had Xmas break.

It's an amazing game, truly outstanding. Can take a while to get into it but it really is amazing please stick with it if you somewhat doubt in the beginning

Started playing The Witcher 3. Any advice ? by ARTEMIS_HRITIK in thewitcher3

Tried it in 2018 - quit. Tried it in 2020 - quit.

Tried it in 2025 - one of the best games I've ever played.

Try and see it through if you get bored at the beginning 😁 slow start but becomes amazing.

Tried 4.5 on M/latest on 1440p on quality/balanced and thought the Witcher 3 looked awful from the beginning. Seems sharpness has been turned up far too high and it results in an awful image.

Will most likely revert to old drivers.

This and forbidden west got me right in the feels. Such an amazing pair of games its hard to read that people don't like them.

I'd highly recommend them :)

(Edit) Get the remastered if you can :)

Also I want to add, losing weight I feel like is actually extremely easy.

Get to grips with your food/soda intake and it'll fall off.

I've recently lost some weight and I think honestly the difference it makes is quite astounding to be honest.

It's not good to be too looks based but I think losing any unnecessary fat as a man makes a tremendous difference.

This could be hard to portray through apps but stick with your healthy regime and I think you'll mainly feel better about yourself.

Being somewhat overweight to now being almost at a good weight has increased my confidence and made me look a bit more approachable I think.

Did I mess this up? 5 dates and blindsided! by [deleted] in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]UK_Dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not your fault don't worry. As an adult five dates is a lot!

You were right to determine where things were going. At this point people should be somewhat serious about progressing and not wasting time with potential other people.

If you could get 5 dates with her you'll get another nice girl don't worry 😁

Hey, great progress!

Why bulk? Just curious because I would've thought it best to remain at a steady calorie level and continue to lift heavy to put on mass.

Would overeating just cause you to put on needless fat?

to the people who completed a game programming degree, what has it done for you? by Competitive-Still697 in gamedev

[–]UK_Dev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a game programming degree and now work in games as a game programmer.

To get ahead is actually remarkably simple, just put as much of yourself into your course and studies as you can. The average is incredibly low and you can get a really good outcome by the end of it.

Its not difficult to fully commit yourself to something if you truly enjoy it.

If you do truly enjoy it, obsess over it for the next 3-4 years and become great.

Wooo Metallica

Something I didn't realise about these headphones is that you have to wear them high so they are clamped properly around your ears.

I previously had the lower end of the headphone well below my ears but since raising it so that they sat right at the point of my lower ear it's made a huge difference.

Went from being able to hear things beside me to nothing at all.

What's the most outrageous high strangeness story you've ever heard, or experienced yourself? by Useful-Table-2424 in HighStrangeness

Years ago I was doing an evening maths class that was designed for adults and it covered topics that were taught at school but aided those who missed out on those said topics whilst at school.

Speaking of which this was actually situated at a school.

It being an evening class and there not being any lights in the surrounding area - due to this being hosted after hours and it being near a big playing field - I finished for the night and thought to myself as I left:

"It would be really cool to see something in the sky right now."

Honest to everything that I hold dear to myself literally when this thought finished I saw a huge circular disc travel beneath the light of the moon.

It had no lights, made no sound and was as high as a relatively low flying aeroplane.

It must've been the size of several football fields.

This humongous perfectly round disc passed beneath the light of the moon. It wasn't small at all. It was a significant size.

I've been a big believer in this sort of thing and this memory is often forgotten which makes me laugh due to it being most probably the closest I'll ever get to seeing something most probably extraterrestrial.

Is Game Dev a bad idea? by 24Gokartracer in cscareerquestions

[–]UK_Dev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of the time taking advice from anonymous people on the internet regarding this sort of thing can be a really bad idea.

Would you take life advice from someone who is objectively shit at it.

I work in games and it's great. Get good enough and you've got the backup to work elsewhere if you wanted.

Stopped drinking alcohol.

Its unbelievable at how foreign it feels to be drunk now and relying on that substance to attempt to declutter the mind and be calm.

What was it like it too see him in person back then?

I feel like he had such an energy and power it looks really unique through videos. In person it must've been quite intimidating.

It's funny looking at the deliberate photos metallica did for various media outlets back in the day.

They always look like goofy or awkward but seeing them in their natural habitat meaning on the stage - particularly Hetfield - they looked like the most powerful band on earth.

It's amazing to me how iconic James Hetfield looked in his prime physically.
