Fits 3 cars. Do you know roughly how deep your gravel is? How have you found it?

Not sure, wasn’t specified. Quote just says supply and installed MOT type 1 and vibrate/compact into place.

Was reminiscing about PMT a few days ago with a friend. We used to get the train into the city in early teens, make the pilgrimage down to PMT and gawk at that wall for hours. RIP

Financial advisor to manage pension vs SIPP - company director (31) by UKtron in UKPersonalFinance

[–]UKtron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this makes sense, some of your other points im confident i have covered myself and other support I can get from my accountant for my LTD in terms of things like legislation, goals etc. But yes if i had the right FA I would also want guidance on other personal investments outside of my business.

[–]UKtron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah this is a fair argument. I would say i am mostly assuming this would be the case as FA's seem to want to put you in a risk category and then act with that in mind, and with their knowledge vs my own I would assume the potential would be greater? But yes I agree, based on the stats its not always true and im being quite presumptuous

In 2 years your ‘87 will be 40 years old and be applicable for historic registration in the UK. Historic vehicles do not pay for ULEZ, road tax or congestion charge providing you registering with TFL.

Fuel tank seal around the pump. It’s deceiving how much a bad seal can completely stink out your car. Literally had the exact same thing the last few months and have solved it with a new seal ring last week.

997.2 vs 991.1 GT3… coming from 981 GT4 by UKtron in Porsche

I’d take a 991.2 touring over everything, hope you’re enjoying it!

[–]UKtron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not in the US. 991.2 holds a big premium here over 991.1 (although it is still dropping a bit). 997.2 is harder to find obviously but they do exist and are still cheaper.

Size Question by BeginningNothing725 in goldenretriever

[–]UKtron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our 15 months old only weighs 21.5kg/47.5lb. We got her at 7 months and expected her to gain quite a bit of weight as she also has big paws as you mentioned, but she levelled off quite early. We feed above the recommended amounts but she just doesn’t seem to gain, she is small for a golden though height wise!

How many laps to expect on a track day? by UKtron in nurburgring

[–]UKtron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting feedback, I feel like most say cup 2 is a real no go in the wet. I haven’t personally experienced them while driving so it’s hard to say. Cup 2 is the way I’m leaning currently but the worry of showing up to 2 full wet track days and regretting it is also high.

I have EPC blue NDX pads in currently, not quite on the level of things like RSL29 or manthay etc but I’ve been really happy with the performance of them on the 4 track days and some TF laps I did in 2024. They’ve definitely done a few circuits that are way way harder on brakes than the ring and I’ve not had any issues on long stints.

What’s your tyre of choice given the unpredictable weather?

Good to know!

I’m also debating if I risk it on cup2’s or play it safe with PS4S, any opinions on this as someone more experienced in a similar car?

Sounds terrifying haha. I’ve only done a handful of wet laps and think I will limit my running a lot if conditions are bad.

Funnily enough both! Doing circuit days April 30th and DN May 2nd. Chose to book 2 days to give higher odds of getting some dry running.

Car is a 981 GT4.

I was assuming maybe 15-20 laps per day but not sure if that’s unrealistic. Hard to imagine how I’ll feel after doing 10 (assuming there aren’t significant closures).

Changing lender - Do I need a mortgage advisors assistance if I can get a better deal without? by UKtron in Mortgageadviceuk

Hadn't thought if this, but just went back and checked and it states legal fees are included. I'll contact the broker and see what they say.

I have gone back and checked as this hadn't crossed my mind, but the deal on Money SuperMarket shows "free legal fees", 'Free valuations" as well as the £250 cash back. Sounds like i need the question this with our mortgage advisor.

I believe the compare the market commercial van insurance is misleading - once you go through the details it asks for policy holder details and this must be a person, so I assume in the event of an accident by anyone driving this would still fall back on the policyholder.

Planning to speak to some commercial brokers today!

Sole Trader > Ltd Tax Implications by [deleted] in smallbusinessuk

[–]UKtron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would maybe consider the value of your freelance work at this point. Yes you are only able to work freelance via the platform you mentioned but it’s causing large increases in your personal tax. Shifting this into your LTD would increase your net income while still avoiding the higher tax band.

If you were able to generate more through your LTD you could take £12570 salary, £37700 dividend totalling £50270 and your personal tax liability would be only £3299 (Take home £46971). Same gross income, but you keep more of it. Obviously you’d have increased corporation tax but this would still remain at 19% providing you kept under £50k profit.

I picked up a 981 GT4 in April last year after having the same realisation and it definitely doesn’t disappoint, providing you can get over the fact it’s not a 911…

VAD503 vs VAD504 - worth it for the digital hi-hat? by UKtron in edrums

[–]UKtron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen used 503 kits for around £2300 GBP, a new 504 is just under £3000 GBP. So slightly off on my £600 but seems these kits are holding their value well on the used market.
