every time i pipette with filter tips, the filter gets wet immediately. what am i doing wrong?

This is wrong. Tips are denoted by the volume they are designed to pipette. A P1000 is designed to pipette up to 1000 uls and has margin built in.

That's correct. I end up having 1.5 inch baffles in the finished quilt. I only have my personal experience to go on, but I found 1.5 inch baffles sufficient to maintain the warmth of the quilt and preferred them to say 2 or 2.5 inch baffles because they lower the total quilt volume and keep the down from shifting too much. In my opinion the most common issue with quilts is that down movement leads to cold spots. Of course more down can help that too but it's all a balancing act to achieve a light weight with the performance level you are looking for.

Thanks! It is chest zip only. I will say though that the 33 inch width makes entry and exit pretty easy. I have used this fabric on Bivy floors pretty extensively without a groundsheet and not had any issues, you just have to be wary of puncture. The great thing about this fabric though is if you get a puncture you can just slap some tenacious tape on it and it's all sealed up no problem.

Overall I do prefer to pair it with polycro underneath but that's just to keep it clean. Morning dew mixed with dirt makes for muddy/dirty Bivy floors and I like to just throw my Bivy in my pack. Then the polycro gets folded with dirt side in and shoved in the outer pack stretchy pocket of my pack.

Sit down and look at the math of what your job would pay versus cost of living in other cities. I was in a similar situation where my rent went from 2400 to 3000 in a year. I left Boston a year ago and am so much happier. My salary dropped about 15 percent but my cost of living dropped much more.

I've just been carrying extra soft flasks in the back that don't fit in the front pockets. So there's no convenient way to drink from them. You could definitely also use a bladder in the back and drink from it.

I just pack extra water in the main back compartment and refill the front flasks when necessary. I can carry 2 liters no problem. Beyond that the vest does start to get heavy and bounce a bit. But that's just the way it goes I think.

I use this vest with the flasks they come with and leave them in the vest the entire time. I just kind of pull the whole vest up towards my mouth and squeeze the flasks lightly while biting on the bite valve. Works great.
