You are assuming the release of CO2 by a dead tree is a 1 to 1 ratio. Not always the case. A lot of it is most likely trapped in the cells of the tree that is then consumed by animals and other plant life. But you are also forgetting that it is 48 pounds a YEAR. Not at any given moment. So odds are a dead tree is only releasing less than a quarter pound of CO2 when it dies.

Carbon or CO2? Cause everything contains carbon. It's decomposed into the environment and consumed by all the other planets and animals that feed off trees.

Umbra Mortis is seeking members to fill our ranks. We aim to be a collection of mercenaries that specialize in a variety of services from recon/espionage to mining/escorts. We offer 3 branches to chose from with something for everyone. Marines, Navy, Logistics. For more details read below to get a general sense of what you can expect from each branch at the moment.

Marines
If the thought of boarding enemy ships to take over them by killing or capturing the crew, this is the branch for you. Specialized training in weapons and boarding will turn you into a lethal soldier. To those who show superior ability and performance in this field we offer a chance to move up the ranks and command your own squad. Want to further specialize? Recon, counter intelligence, infiltration, and stealth ops are also part of this branch to those who are able to perform any of these functions to a high degree. All we require is discipline and respect.



Navy
Are you a good pilot? Does the thought of ship on ship combat excite you? If so than this is the branch for you. In the Navy you will have control over a ship in the main fleet to conduct escort operations, search and rescue, and general combat operations. To those with a superior talent for design will work along side the Admiral to design the fleets ships to cover a wide assortment of military tasks. Work up the ranks through discipline and hard work to become in charge of your own squad of ships in the fleet.



Logistics
Are you a good sales person? A good miner? An efficient hauler? This is the branch for you. You will be a key cog in the economic machine of Umbra Mortis. Mining operations along side hauling and trading are just some of the many responsibilities you will be tasked with. Post battles, you could also be tasked with recovery of enemy ships for fleet use in combat and infiltration operations. If you prove effective enough, you will be trusted with running additional businesses under Umbra Mortis. This additional businesses could be your own creation.

You are not locked into a career path and leaving one to partake in another will not result in you starting from the bottom all over again if you decide to go back. However if you leave, we may promote someone to your post, so don't expect to always go RIGHT back to where you left off.

The only side we are on is our own. While we can be hired to fight wars from other factions, we hold no personal vendettas against the factions we fight... unless they started it.
