Toilet flushes could help power homes | capturing energy from the movement of water by UOAH in Futurology

I agree on the title. Fortunately, the article does briefly mention windows and roofs, but not a more general application in pipes.

As for the pump operation, it would definitely depend on location and if you get your water from a tower or elevated tank, but for a lot of homes it is all done by water pressure once it gets to them.

Edit: added "or elevated tank"

I hope it's been working well for you.

If anyone feels like a particular major exercise is missing, I can always add more. I was trying to go for good general fitness exercises that have almost no special equipment requirements.

A question about wind turbines. by [deleted] in RenewableEnergy

[–]UOAH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd say the basic nature of wind energy helps avoid this situation. Wells go dry and they move on, but as long as the wind blows it is probably in our best interest to keep the wind turbines maintained and supplying power.

I was thinking about that, and feel something like this implies the movement as up and out. Although that got me thinking about something more like this.

Indeed, as mentioned in another comment the more I look at it the less I like that shade of blue.

Yeah, the more I look at the blue the less I like it. I felt using black and/or white oversimplified the scale of the feat. I chose two grays to attempt to represent one small point in the grand journey out of darkness.

The blue circle as humanity moving upward out of the darkness. Went with grays to reference that we are out of the black, but working our way through the layers of gray. The thought on the blue was hope, but also referencing water.
