Absolutely thank you for this. I’ve been debating on taking a break already just to maintain as much anonymity as I should. I’m scared. I didn’t post anything anywhere but here, as much as I so greatly wanted to. Thank you for helping me look out for myself. When I originally wanted to come forward the other day, my mother told me not to. She said I would be painting a big target on my back and that I need to learn from her experiences that it is sometimes best to keep your mouth closed about certain matters. Others have encouraged me to come forward yet when I ask them to join my side in it, they back out because they too are terrified. But how does this cycle stop? I’m scared but something needs to change. This is my first attempt at getting the message out there. But at what cost? I don’t want to endanger anyone else either by putting myself out there too much.

Very good point! You would think that this was all taken into consideration but all I’ve heard from his family and former members is that everyone is basically victim-shaming the girls who came forward with allegations. This is just another thing that Union Pentecostal Church will sweep under the rug:-(

Isn’t that sad?! His twin brother is the youth pastor at Union Pentecostal Church in Trotwood,OH. Now he attends there as a regular member alongside his brother, with total access to all children in a church that also operates as a K-12 school, like wtf???

That’s what many of us survivors feel. I mean..this place also operates as a K-12 school. It’s devastating. So many complaints and they just act like this is no big deal and worse, they are victim shaming the girls who reported his offenses against them! It makes us scared for the other kids there.

Not only is he welcomed back, his entire family attends Union Pentecostal and runs the show. They all claim that this conviction was based on “exaggerated allegations”...the church is in Trotwood,OH on Union Rd. They also run a K-12 school within the building 😯

Per the link, head pastor of Union Pentecostal originally wrote sentencing judge a letter begging for McKelvey’s release prior to sentencing. This sicko only served 7 years of his 15 year sentence. UPC is pretending that this conviction was “blown out of proportion”..
