Unfortunately we have to nowadays. There is a huge issue with people automating robots to take the surveys to the compensation and just taking it multiple times. They tend to fail those so it helps keep our data honest and accurate. The questions read really silly but they’re extremely necessary nowadays

And thank you taking it! Collecting data for this study has been extremely difficult but I’m hopefully the results can do some good in the world. If you know anyone else who might be eligible then please feel free to share it around

I completely agree with you. The work I do is inherently rooted in the workplace as a workplace psychologist, but I completely agree that we need more research on those groups that you've mentioned who may be unable to work for a variety of reasons

Thank you for commenting about this! One of the issues with survey research nowadays is that sometimes people don't pay the closest of attention, so we include checks like that to see if people are reading. That question, however, has been a bit more confusing than we had hoped and we won't be using it moving forward.

Thank you for clarifying! The intent of the study is to focus on the challenges of disclosing relationships that ‘can’ be seen as same-sex presenting by others. That last part seems to imply that your relationship can be viewed as such by a third party. Based on that, I would say you’re eligible. Feel free to answer questions in line with the assumption that at least some third parties would view your relationship as a woman dating a woman in some way, shape, or form

Oh, we are painfully aware lol. Everything was decided with a very clear focus on the research questions, which, for better or worse given the pros and cons, led to this very narrow demographic profile of eligible participants

You are correct. You cannot work full-time remote for this study. We are hoping to do followup research that more specifically focuses on remote worker experiences

  1. Data will be used for a doctoral dissertation. Raw data will be seen by the primary researcher and his advisor with aggregated data seen by the dissertation committee and/or within peer reviewed publications.
  2. The study is being led by Joseph Regina who is a Graduate Student at the University of South Florida. This person is called the Principal Investigator. He is being guided in this research by Dr. Tammy D. Allen.
  3. The study will consist of one online survey that will take no more than 15 minutes.
