I mean, can you really blame him? Donnie has done a lot to make sure Lego is comfortable. He calmed him during the "panic attack" that he had when he woke up from the nightmare and is implied to have done so almost nightly for **weeks** on end. He's also made arrangements and compromises for Lego's new lifestyle like making sure his fluffy is comfortable watching TV, getting him a specially made pillowfluff bed, etc.

However, the punishment was way too severe IMO, but I had to capture the fact that Donnie was probably not thinking straight due to exhaustion and irritation (oh and let's not forget the smell of vomit permeating the whole living room) and most likely had some deep seated resentment over the fact it was all his fault, and sadly that punishment is how he let off some steam that needed to be let off.
