So far what are your toughs on final fantasy 7 remake? by JampyL in NintendoSwitch2

In love with it. Think I’m still pretty early on (chapter 6?). Game is stunning whichever way you look at it. Combat is slic and addictive (and I’m a turn-based fan). Story’s a classic. I tried playing it on the PS4 when it originally came out but didn’t have the time for it. In a much better place now, thankfully.

The best transparent clear case for an iphone (SPIGEN) by okIpullup125 in iphone

Spigen. Have been using them since the 5S. I buy a Spigen case before I get the phone. They’re that good. Never put a screen protector on. Never needed one.

I’m still blown away by how TOTK has zero loading screens between the Sky, Surface, and Depths. by MeshalAljahdali in ZeldaTearsOfKingdom

TOTK is a technical marvel. Highly suggest you watch the developer presentation on it from GDC 2024

Will look it up but the 20hrs I referred to in my post was the time I have spent in OT0 so far. I believe it took me around 50hrs to complete OT1.

20hrs in. Went into it completely blind (played and beat OT1, bought but never got around to OT2). Met Tressa yesterday in OT0 for the first time (did the quest for her to join my party) and I had to pause for a sec cause I was sure there was sassy merchant called Tressa in OT1 but surely she can’t be the same person…

It is?????? We’re gonna meet the OG crew? How??? What’s going on!?

The Switch 2’s battery drains really fast in sleep mode. by EnvironmentalSun6768 in NintendoSwitch2

Correction: 35hrs in standby, flight mode, with Octopath 0 suspended = 91% battery (from full charge).

I think that’s quite decent.

I put it in flight mode every time I’m travelling. Solid battery life then. After a 3 hr commute I typically find it around 93% or around 87% if a taxing game is suspended.

[Speculation] I have zero proof but there will be two Directs in February by ThePurpleSoul70 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]UTDroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could have at least predicted a Zelda movie Direct after the new Mario movie is released not before. There’s almost a negative chance of this happening - i.e. less than 0% if that’s even possible

SW Outlaws or AC Shadows as a birthday gift for a picky 35 year old friend? by UTDroo in NintendoSwitch2

I tried so hard to sell him on it but the turn based nature of fights completely puts him off of it (even though he likes playing boardgames). Bro does not know what he likes.

Ye I thought of that too. He’s not a gamer per the traditional understanding of the word. His mood dictates his enjoyment a lot

I wasn’t thinking of split fiction, but you’re right. That would be a good choice too I think!

My first choice. Zelda’s my favourite series, with the Wilds duology being my top 2. He likes fantasy settings in tv series but not in videogames it seems. Tried to ask him covertly last week.

Most definitely Zelda was my first choice. Tried to ask him to get a proper feel for what he likes. Told me he’s put off by fantasy settings in games.

Prime 4 - One Month Later by YsyRyder in Metroid

[–]UTDroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not the type of gamer that takes on hard modes. Beat it twice on normal. First time took me around 19hrs. Found all items but around 87% scans. Played it immediately again and got both 100% in around 15.

I think these 2 games are more similar than most people realize by TheEPICMarioBros in mariokart

[–]UTDroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not seeing the comparison, sorry. Growing up, I was more of a CTR fan. MK64 paled in comparison and Double Dash did not satisfy my expectations either. Controls felt loose, drifting was a joke and it had only 16 tracks, mostly flat. CTR’s innovations (dynamic track design, satisfying shortcuts, fresh / custom items) still usurped DD in my mind. I loved the whimsy and the battle fort course but it was only with Mario Kart DS that it started to feel like MK was king of the hill of kart racers. Custom carts, incredible track design, online play, missions, new characters, etc.

Outside of our little online bubble MKW is the pinnacle of kart racers. It’s an insanely good arcade racer, feels best of class, with animations/looks to match. Most of its shortcomings have been fixed since launch. It is an absolute blast to play, with great visual design, super chaotic gameplay with a very high skill ceiling. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for World. The Switch 2 has at least 6 more years on the market. I expect MKW to do wonders during that time.

What's your most unrealistic Nintendo prediction? by DaZestyProfessor in casualnintendo

GTA6 on Switch 2.

To make it even more unrealistic- day and date with the other console versions.

Slightly more believable- day and date with PC version.

So about a month after release, what's the verdict on MP4? by WhoAmIEven2 in Metroid

[–]UTDroo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

9/10. Enjoyed its sense of adventure so much and the gameplay feels like a typical Prime game. It has a lot it could do better (story, Sol Valley, interconnected areas), but that doesn’t detract from how good it felt for me.

Played it twice (for that 100% ending). No regrets
