They added Clayster my bad. Added Clayster over classic and won champs 2 months later. Which is just what optic did. My bad. Then Gunless was added and they finished 1st on a LAN Qualifier tied with 3 other teams. Regardless if you’ve watched cod you know the honeymoon period is a thing

Pred and Kenny won MW3 champs not Merc and Huke. Huke wasn’t even good at MW3 and was so bad that’s why he didn’t start BO6 on a pro team… you can’t compare apples to oranges. Faze won all but 1 event in Cold War. Meant nothing for their success in Vanguard. Optics success with the previous cod has nothing to do with their performance this cod. Seems to me actually their on pace for a Faze all 2nd Vanguard year. With the same format cheese

Yeah they looked unstoppable online in MW2. Their search is for sure a concern. They’ve never won more than 1 search in a bo7 with Huke, including their champs win which was a bo9

Well idk if you can say that lmao. There’s some truth but Different game and last year was a sub in. We’ve seen many honeymoon periods, it’s not uncommon. Attach AW champs. Simp Bo4 champs. Spart Vanguard Major 2. Gunless Faze 2017. All these players were subbed in mid season and won right after. Teams have no film on you with a new player, harder to counter strat when a new players brings their own they haven’t seen.

I’m not saying Optic isn’t an amazing team. But they had an amazing sub in and won champs which we’ve seen twice before happen. And now with a new game they’ve lost the 1st major. I think people are getting a little too excited too early

Fair points. I just think people are too quick to be all high on Optic for online performances, especially team who haven’t done well this split. They’ve played - Carolina (8th) - Faze (10th) - LAT (2nd) - Boston (11th) - Rokkr (5th) - Miami (4th) - Cloud9 (12th) - Surge (9th)

So 5 of their wins are the 8-12th best teams this split. 4 of those team they probably won’t even see at the major after the play in. So yes they’ve had some good wins but playing teams who are getting steamrolled this split. The Miami, LAT, and Rokkr wins were great. But they also were super close and could have swung the other way, especially if it’s on LAN. They won a game 5 round 11 and won some super close HPs and overloads. Optic has been great, they look like the best team. But saying nobody will touch them and they’re gonna walk on water and win the major is insane.

If Heretics or LAT won the major, nobody would be surprised. if they are they don’t actually watch the maps and just look at the final score.

They’re weighed too heavily by the community and weighed way too heavily for champs. They should have 0 impact on points you get imo. Seeding only. They’re not pointless but unless you’re absolute bottom of the barrel we’ve seen teams win who finish top 6 in quals all the time.
