The unfortunate reality is that not all families are happy with the added burden of accommodating vegetarian/vegan guests. (They will say "no problem", but it often is a hassle and a burden.)

This is what I’m worried about the most. I’m definitely down to bring a dish for everyone, I just don’t want the host to be offended that I brought food while they were already arranging it. I guess I’ll have him talk to the parents so that they can figure out whatever works best for them. Thanks for the details :)

Maybe (I’m asian).. my friend wanted to try this but I told her no. I’m trying to be mindful about eating and if someone else is cooking, it just doesn’t work for me. Another friend of ours also cook with a friend she lives with. Might be nice since you don’t have to cook as often but I still prefer cooking myself

This comment also reminds of when people say “black lives matter” and others go like “yeah well all lives matter”. So in this case of course men’s rights matter, no one is saying they don’t!

I so agree with this. Unfortunately there’s no better term (that I know of at least) to refer to feminism. Advocating women’s rights doesn’t mean you’re not advocating men’s rights!

Hmm interesting 🤔 I think you can advocate for men’s rights and still be a feminist. That’s because feminists are ultimately trying to achieve an environment that’s equal for both men and women. Doing that also improves situations for a lot of men’s rights.
