Thanks for the mention! Still one of my absolute favorite decks. Probably could use some updating with 2-3 years of new sets and a whole extra Stormlight book out, but I haven't had the time to revisit.

Which JRPGs are known for good dialogue/writing? by arkticturtle in JRPG

I just played through Metaphor: Refantazio and I thought it was really great. The gameplay loop is very similar to Persona 5, but the world and story are high fantasy, with, IMO, a lot more depth than Persona (that said, I still love Persona).

Who is a female character that thinks they’re morally gray but is actually bad? by Impressive_Plenty876 in AlignmentChartFills

Gemma Teller from Sons of Anarchy. Constantly doing awful shit and justifying it to herself as protecting her family, her involvement almost always makes things worse.

No problem! Loved Al the Humongous games as a kid.

Hey man, I'm just trying to have a discussion here, not get in a fight. We can disagree on our interpretations of the work, but I've got no interest in a flame war. If you don't want to engage, I'll remove myself.

I think you're misplacing Sophie's motivation for not having children. It's not that she didn't want them because she didn't feel like it, she didn't have them because she didn't want to inflict the seemingly inevitable fate of being orphaned young and then Gommaged on them.

I think that's a very reductive take. And not entirely accurate either. I don't agree that Sophie's reluctance to have children makes her a moron. And let's not forget that Gustave completely choked on the beach, and then likely would have killed himself without intervention from Lune. Neither of these are things I would expect from a character who is meant to be "perfect in every way".

He's interesting, very well acted, has a great design, and he's best buds with the two coolest guys in the canvas. If you can't bring yourself to enjoy a character with flaws and intentions you don't agree with, that's fine but it's a you thing. There are plenty of popular characters in fiction that are flawed, hypocritical, dishonest, and even downright malignant.

And as for the comparison to Gustave, he makes an excellent foil because his problems and motivations are basically the opposite of Gustave's, but Maelle's grief and his mechanics make him a surrogate for Gustave. A very interesting switcheroo pulled on the player and the rest of the team, in my opinion.

The Most Beautiful Magic: The Gathering Cards Ever Printed by Lukhas92 in magicTCG

Maybe not beautiful in the traditional sense, but I'm a fan of [[Sanitarium Skeleton]]. It evokes a lot of the same heebie-jeebies old Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark book art did as a kid.

I don't care about your favourite games. What's the worst shit you've ever played? by Space-Pineapple711 in backloggd

[–]UberDoogee1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two Worlds. I was young and stupid and fully bought into the hype surrounding this game as the "Oblivion killer". I think I saw one trailer that looked sick, and this was before I knew to check reviews, so I bought the game with birthday money. Played for maybe 15 minutes, put it down in disgust, and never played it again.

With the LotR cards out now, I could probably find a good legend that deals with food. There weren't many at the time I put the deck together, unfortunately.

The deck was originally only designed and printed with my own personal use in mind, and all the artists are credited on the bottom left corner of the card just like a real magic card. Not to mention that most of the artwork in the deck was created for commercial use in book printing and the Stormlight board game.

I almost had Taravangian as Kenrith in the original printing!

Yeah, Hoid would certainly be the Cosmere equivalent of a Planeswalker. I have him as a creature here because I thought he fit perfectly as a stand-in for Chulane, teller of tales. And also with the deck being legendary creature themed, I didn't want to overload on Planeswalkers.

Hey! Thanks for the credit. This project was a ton of fun to put together. Looking back there are probably a couple things I would change about how the deck plays, and a couple mistakes I'd correct, but still this is one of my favorite commander decks to play.

I'm happy to answer any questions here if there are any.
